Join us at our unique lakeside venue in the Heart of the City.

Just a stones’ throw away from Barbican Station and adjacent to Moorgate we are in the heart of the Barbican, offering a blissful retreat tucked away for a leisurely lunch or eventful dinner with friends or business colleagues.

Location, our ever-changing menus and private booths make us the perfect place for meetings in the City of London.

The venue is spilt over two floors, our main restaurant, private booths and bar area located upstairs and our newly opened Games Room downstairs complete with pool table, table football, selection of new and retro games machines and a fully stocked bar. We have something for everyone, whether it’s an intimate dinner with a view of the lake, a business meeting or a friendly catch up with mates.

All area's are also available for private hire – perfect for birthday parties, christenings, wedding receptions and any other celebration you may have!

At Wood Street Bar & Restaurant we want our guests to feel welcomed, and as such we ensure that everyone who walks through our doors are greeted with warmth and shown the great service that we pride ourselves on.

The Menu is ever evolving with seasonal changes and monthly updates, we have time-honoured favourites like Beer Battered Fish & Chips and traditional British classics.

We truly do believe that we have achieved a perfect balance of great food, in a relaxed atmosphere with an extensive drinks list. However when you do pop in to join us if you have any suggestions or would like to see a new dish on the menu please let us know, we are always up for trying new things; especially when it involves food.

Had lunch here with a couple of colleagues. The food was good, but the service was slow even though it wasn't that busy. Unfortunately, it was very noisy, but that could be the time of year. Overall, a decent establishment.Food: 5/5

I've eaten here twice before, and both times it was excellent. This time I braved hosting the work Christmas party here - being the organiser it always puts a bit of pressure on. Thankfully all the food was again excellent - how many years have you had disappointing Christmas meals for work do's? Save yourself the disappointment next year, and book Wood Street. I've no idea that turkey could have that much flavour, plus the Neck Oil was actually tasty. Remember when Neck Oil was a good beer? Well, it still is here.
Great to see Wood Street open again. You can't stand around of course, everyone needs to be seated to be Covid secure. Food and drinks were excellent, great service too. Definitely worth a visit if you can.
Wood Street Bar & Restaurant is a gem with a warm ambiance and exceptional cuisine. The menu boasts a variety of flavorful dishes made from fresh, local ingredients. Attentive staff provide excellent service, making every visit memorable. Ideal for both casual dining and special occasions. Highly recommended for a delightful culinary experience!
A really nice pub, selling a decent range of real ales. Tucked away in a corner of the Barbican complex, I'd not had any idea it was there, but found it in the Good Beer Guide. The back terrace has views of the Barbican development.
Genuine Review: Definitely the worst Pub in Britain!!! Absolutely awful customer service and extremely rude staff. Avoid at any cost!!! when we ordered food and drinks from our table, the food all came out at different times with one of us receiving her food when the other 4 of us had finished. I sent my food back twice as it was cold which still didn't come out hot. I've been to this pub twice but have to say my last visit will make it difficult to go back or recommend. Extremely poor quality pub, stinky tables and the pub manager was so rude and he has a pathetic behaviour towards customers. I saw him wearing a blue floral awful shirt literally shouting at few customers at the table. My stomach is upset now after eating horrible food at the pub. Lackluster food. Shame!!! My kind advice to the man in awful blue shirt is to go back to school and learn some manners as the way he was talking to all the customers was appalling, disgraceful & outrageous!!! Avoid this pub, the food was overpriced and not up to any standard and the service was atrocious. Stay away due to poor food standards and disgusting & stinky attitude from Pub's manager. This pub is a disgrace! I don’t think I will go back or recommend to others n evening out is meant to be relaxing not pure rudeness. If I did that as a frontline worker I would be out of a job very fast! I would like to give 0 stars, but unfortunately there is no option, hence gave 1 star! Feedback 2: This is NOT a FAKE Review. I've been here 4 times, I like that it's not usually busy but the portion sizes are so small, it's like fine dining portions for this price! I always leave feeling hungry.Food: 3/5
I was with the group which the below reviewer nav has commented upon and I can confirm that the incident did occur. It was completely shocking that an establishment in today’s day and age could pass by with such behaviours. Overpriced food and drinks. Absolutely stocking and sticky toilets. And the person who we think is the manager was drinking with his mates in front of the counter and had the audacity to scream at us. We were w group of 15 celebrating our colleagues birthday and it was completely marred by this incident. Lesson learnt. Never again stepping foot inside here. They’re a black spot in the otherwise amazing world of pubs in London.
Really good burger and they keep their beers well. Lowkey kind of place, but I'll be back. Burgers this good are rare.Food: 5/5
