We brought our little dog here for essential dental work. We were advised that the dental work (removing an abscess) would be done by a specialist. Within three hours of leaving our precious girl at this vets, she was dead. I do not feel that she received the care & attention that she deserved. This was such a devastating shock for us, & I feel it was handled in a matter-of-fact way. I also feel that we should have been advised to treat our dog with medication, rather than an operation. The operation was due to cost in the region of £1800, which we were well prepared to pay. On the day of her death, before we left with her tiny body wrapped in a towel, we were asked for a payment of around £200. Thinking about it, I’m disappointed that they did this. I do believe this vets is all about the money. We paid & we left. I would never go back. They never even sent us a written apology or explanation as to what went wrong. We had to write & try & find out. Totally devastating experience.

I worked here for 9 years and even though I’ve now left I will still always return with my pets even though we don’t live that close anymore. Knowing what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ they’re the only people I will trust to look after my pets. One of my cats has to have repeated anaesthetics for a condition he has - he receives the absolute best of care from every staff member. Everything they do is gold standard so even though it’s a worrying time leaving my cat for treatment I know he’s in the absolute best of hands with veterinary and nursing care. Everyone here has pet and owners best interests at heart, they have the most up to date equipment and clinical standards and all love the job they do.

Was going to transfer to this Vet because of the hospital aspect , lower consultation rates, and hospital spaying rates for dogs. In the event very glad I didn't. Their staff are very incompetent & unhelpful generally. I wouldn't trust my dog to have an op there. The registered nurses do not know their medication nor the name of meds nor what it's for, which your dogs are on. They could not even get my vaccination certificates right for my dogs instead wanting to start the whole vaccination process again! Nor do they respond to emails sent. (unless they get a bad review on google or YELL). Avoid , and do your research before moving vets. It is really better to pay a little more to ensure you have competent, caring, professional Vets looking after your pets.

the best vet by far, wood street took on my dog when my local vet felt he needed specialist care, the diagnosis was swift and accurate the options and finances were laid out clearly and when the go ahead was given the surgery was swift.i felt at ease because of their compasion understanding and profesianalisam ,the follow up was above and beyond.i have wood street to thank for my dogs life and for that i recomend them beyond any vet.

Our 21 year old cat received excellent care Report review Our 21 year old cat needed dentistry work and naturally we were concerned about the risks involved in anaesthesia. Simone Kirby who specialises in dentistry was brilliant from the initial consultation through to the procedure itself. We had quite a few concerns which she clarified for us and she kept us informed at intervals on the day of the procedure ensuring we felt settled about what was going on. We knew our little companion was in safe hands and a very big heartfelt thank you to Simone and all the staff at Wood Street Hospital. We would definitely use this practice again. Our lovely cat is now much livelier, eating and drinking extremely well and clearly in much less discomfort. Mr. & Mrs. Beckwith
