I recently visited Wood Street Vet for a check-up and vaccination for my dogs Daisy and Pixie, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Dr. Tony White was as always exceptional—thorough, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about animal care. I always feel that my dogs are in good hands when booking with Dr. Tony White.
My cat Reggie was treated here as an inpatient after a urinary blockage. He received fantastic care and has recovered really well. All staff were great, but want to particularly mention Sandrine who was lovely. Huge thank you to everyone at Wood Street for looking after my boy so well. He’s back to his usual cuddly self and even eating his special diet food now!
Wood Street Veterinary Hospital are absolutely incredible. If you are looking for a vet practice which genuinely cares about you and your pet, this is the place. I have recently sadly had to say a tragic farewell to my gorgeous cat, my adorable Bernard. When he began displaying signs of being unwell, I had him checked up at Wood Street, and the examining vet Daniele was compassionate and professional throughout. Bernard was admitted to Wood Street for 2 days to undergo tests, and the staff were regularly in touch with me during this time to keep me updated. Bernard was diagnosed with lymphoma and sadly following his discharge he continued to deteriorate, and although it was the hardest decision, the kindest thing to do was to say goodbye to my little friend. This final appointment at Wood Street was one of the most difficult and saddest things I have ever had to do, but every single member of staff there made it so much more manageable with their kindness, empathy and compassion. While Bernard was being put to sleep, the vet practice ignited an electric candle in their reception, which I learned is a ritual they undertake for any pet whose time it is to say goodbye to. This beautiful ritual sums up my experience of Wood Street Veterinary Hospital. Thank you to everyone there for being as lovely and caring as you all are, it meant so much to me. When I'm eventually ready to care for another furry friend again, I will be registering with Wood Street Veterinary Hospital in a heartbeat.nAll the love to all of you at WSVH,nJonny Pnxxx
I took my new German Shepherd to Wood Street Veterinary Hospital in Barnet after an accident during a walk, where his back paw was cut by glass. Initially, the emergency team seemed helpful, having charged £430 which I thought was excessive in treating the wound and applying a bandage. However, the very next day, the bandage came off, and when I contacted the practice to have it reapplied, I was told I would need to pay the full price again.nnI was particularly disappointed by the behaviour of the nurse, who was abrupt and inconsiderate. She seemed more concerned with ensuring payment for the previous visit than addressing the current issue, which I found to be very unprofessional. They also didn’t call me back when I requested a call back and I had to call the hospital again.nnThis approach utterly lacks compassion, especially in the current climate where many people are struggling financially. A follow-up treatment related to the original injury should not incur such excessive charges. This experience felt more focused on profit than on providing genuine care for pets and their owners.nnFurthermore, I believe that as the veterinary industry is currently unregulated, it absolutely should be going forward to prevent people from being taken advantage of. If this doesn’t change, I will consider opening my own veterinary hospital under our family flourishing group based on the Harvard study, to ensure that care is given the right way, with both pets and owners in mind.nnAdditionally, in most other industries, insurance companies would pay the hospital directly. However, in this case, the expectation is for you to pay upfront, which is completely against the principles of financial well-being. Having built the largest financial wellness company in the UK through Salary Finance, I know this is one of the reasons people fall into financial trouble in the first place. They don’t deserve to operate and I am willing to post this to ensure the management act and if they don’t well as Elon Musk said last night on national television the true colours of someone is how they behaving times of difficultynnI hope the Chief Executive of this practice contacts me within the next 12 hours to rectify this situation.
My dog Milo had a puncture wound and suspected grass seed several weeks ago. After having surgery which didn’t locate a grass seed, Milo’s wound has not been healing and leaking discharge. It was suspected a foreign body was still inside and we have been back and forth to the vets for a couple of weeks. We attended the vets today to check the wound, expecting to book another surgery date, however, Sandrine managed to flush the wound and pull out the grass seed from his paw right in front of us! We are SO grateful to the amazing Sandrine, Thank you!!!!
