Had a baby raccoon, seemingly healthy, at my apartment complex, attacking kids, people, and pets outside of the dog park area. Called them just now to help SAFELY move it back to the forest, and I'm not equipped to move it without it biting. They refused because it's healthy. Don't bother calling for help. They refused, even though it was attacking CHILDREN.
Although the staff were polite and professional, they saw fit to euthanize a lost cat that I found. Supposedly the cat was old and beyond recovery. Stranger than that, the cat was put down within 24 hours of being surrendered. I don't think I can condone this. What makes this a tragedy is that the cat's family was found and contacted. They arrived there the day after the cat was found. Not soon enough. This tragedy devastates me. Maybe if you find a lost pet, attend to its care and safety. But use one of the many online Facebook groups and professional websites that deal with locating lost pets. I can say from personal experience that they were more helpful in resolving this problem. Rest in peace, kitty cat. Your family has closure at least.
Staff didn't know much about the animal we went to look at. Had to wait for about 20 minutes but that was okay. Asked questions about the dog we went to look at and the person working knew very little about him. Filled out application told they would call next day when the dog handlers were in and did not receive a call. They want to have pets adopted but not showing any effort in doing so. It ia unfortunate because they do have cute animals just not very good service on getting them adopted.
Good luck if “Katelyn” answers your call. Wanted to report a pet found in my yard, and she put me on hold several times, claimed she was too busy to help, refused to pass me on to a supervisor or anyone who could help, and hung up the phone on me. Not much "caring" happening here.
I brought the neighbourhood cat to LACC and pre-adopted him. LACC had him assessed, neutered, microchipped and more within 5 days. It was very clear that, during his stay, Ziggy was well taken care of. I dropped him off on a Monday, and on Saturday I brought him to his forever home. All staff that I interacted with, over the phone and in person, were very caring and made sure to give me all the information I needed.
I have never had an issue with the staff here - they’re very kind and helpful. The reason for four stars is I asked if I could buy next year’s tags now, and was told no. I told the girl I would really like to take care of it early this time because it stresses me out that I get a bill for almost $180 at the beginning of December when….as most people can relate to….money feels tight due to the holiday season fast approaching. She told me it was not something they are willing to budge on, and I’ll just have to wait to receive the bill in the mail next December. ‍
Called them when I found a sick shrew that was running in circles instead of running away. I was sure no one would answer so late at night or they'd refuse to come pick up such a small animal. To my delighted surprise, not only did they agree to pick it up, they were at my place within minutes of me calling! I'm super impressed with the efficiency, and really happy we got help for our little friend :
Called at approximately 5am to report my dog being vicious as he bit my daughter. This was after being told by 911 to call when I had the dog contained. The person on the other end of the call was NOT helpful. Called back when they opened and still received no help. Was told to file a bite report. Put in ticket to file said report. Was told someone would contact me either in person or on the phone. Called back 3 hours later and was informed it's in his in box and MAYBE they'll get back to me today. Told them for the umpteenth time I AM AFRAID. Response was well then if he drew blood and punctured the skin call the health unit. Sitting here afraid and wondering what kind of people run that place.
In times were people don't have food to eat and so much high inflation, they want you to register your pet which you treat as family member and pay annual registration fees. This is a Scam, and shows how these government suck our blood.
The staff are amazing from my experience....We we're very fortunate to be able to spend time with this beauty..Sadie is now her name..She us fully Vetted and 100% healthy...We added her to our furbaby family..One day at a time...Is this facility lacking funding..YES...Do we need to do better YES.....All in good time...Last pic is off our Littles ...
