A great little place on the Quantock Hills, perfect for walking the dogs, taking a mountain bike ride, or simply having a horse ride… fresh air away from the city.
Absolutely beautiful. We had a very long drive and wanted somewhere nice to pull over to stretch our legs and let the dog out. We found this and now plan to visit again. Lots of lovely views and wide open space for the dog to run.
Fantastic location with great views and lots of wildlife. Perfect base for walking, riding, birdwatching etc. The car park is very rutted and potholed but drivable with care. It's free to park, and there is also a voluntary online honesty box that goes towards upkeep and access to the land - which seems fair. The only problem with Wilmot's pool car park is the constant harassment by police driving around in 4x4 pick-ups, telling you that overnight camping is not allowed. I have no objection to being told once, but 9/10 trips have been ruined by intrusive police physically poking their heads into my van to tell me the same old thing, often multiple times in a day. I've no doubt this is a camper/day van thing as car owners never get approached. The only reason I can not give a 5 star review is sadly because of the police.
This carpark it very bumpy and can have very deep puddles after some rain but the views from here are spectacular! It is walkable from the Dead Womens Ditch if you are worried about the holes/puddle
A beautiful spot for a walk, but the car park is seriously treacherous now. The ruts are so deep most of the car park is unusable.
Free parking. Great view. Easy access to the higher part of hills.
Well you take your car in with heart in your hand as it's really up and down with pot holes all over the shop, but when your there it's a lovely place to be with plenty of flora and fauna plus some over friendly ponies.
Great spot to access the Quantock Hills but the entrance track to the car park is deeply rutted so avoid if your car is low to the ground!
Excellent place to go with the family. Boys loved it, some of the horses are friendly and will let you stroke them. This helped my grandsons get over their fear of horses. Great walks and a perfect day out for a picnic.
It's a great place to start a walk, have a picnic and enjoy the views on a clear day. However, it can be blustery and the track up to the parking area is deeply rutted - care is needed even for 4-wheel drive vehicles. Just don't feed the horses, as they will gather round the cars even more than they do now.
