I can usually get what I need from here, especially if it's a specialist product. The only issue I have with this particular branch is the layout of the carpark, where cars coming in and going out have to share a narrow entrance. On this occasion, a car was going out and not obeyed the one-way route that had me swerve to the left to avoid a collision.
The staff and designer of our bathroom were great, but then it came to getting it fitted. What was supposed to be 6-10 days tops turned into almost a full month, the subcontractors that got the installation were hard work to say the least and clearly not bothered about any quality of workmanship,we had to keep calling them back to fix things and to do things properly and to replace things they broke. They were not going to fit the seal around the Bath that we paid extra for, they didn’t tile the whole bathroom floor and wall after us expressing to the designer that was what we wanted-instead only up to the bath, the bath dips and creeks and clunks when you walk in it or get a bath,so I doubt they even fitted the support brackets underneath. I have contacted wicks about this via email but that was ignored,so it looks to me that it is the type of company that once they have your money they don’t care. Also by the looks of it they don’t really care too much about what subcontractors they get in to do the job. Definitely won’t be getting them to do our kitchen!
My review has to do more with Wickes in general. The staff in store are lovely and really know their stuff. However, our experience with Wickes as a whole has been completely shocking. Almost 3 years ago we had our bathroom redone and decided to use Wickes for supply and install as thought this would be the least hassle route. However, this was a HUGE mistake. Firstly, the installer completely messed up the initial install. We left him for a day and came back to find out that he had full tiled rather than half tiled, he installed the showerhead on the wrong side, leaky tap and a whole host of other issues. Took us over a year to get those issues sorted and we ended up just accepting the tiling as it was. We thought things we sorted, then noticed that some wallpaper in the room adjoining the bathroom was starting to peel. On inspection, we discovered significant damp and mould developing due to the shower leaking. We chased for months for them to come out and resolve. They did come out and stated that they had resolved the issues and it did seem better for a while. However, last autumn we were getting flooring replaced in the rooms adjoining the bathroom and, on taking the current floor up, discovered the entire skirting board was rotten and half the plasterboard. Turns out the leaks weren't all fixed and there has been a slow leak for months behind the wall. We got send out replacement items as they determined they needed to replace the shower it turned out the original installer hadn't put proper supports under the shower and the flex in the tray was causing small, unnoticeable gaps in the seals, but these arrived well before Christmas and we are still waiting for an installer towards the end of April. We have been given provisional dates but these never pan out. This was our only shower in the house. Last autumn, because of the issues, we paid over £3k to get our small toilet redone to fit a little shower. This expenditure was solely down to the issues in the main bathroom. I'm now desperate to have the issues resolved but am at my wits ends as to what to do. :- We've been living without a main shower and with a gaping hole in the wall in the adjoining room. As another negative to Wickes. We needed our kitchen redoing last summer and, while we would never use Wickes again for install, we liked some of their kitchen units and decided to purchase and get our own installer to put them in. The units are lovely, but the process of getting the right items delivered was horrific. Half the items missing on first delivery, then several incorrect items delivered. Took so much back and forth to eventually get the correct items. How hard can it be to deliver what is on a clear inventory of items?!?!? To add to this, Wickes refused to collect many of the incorrect items - mainly really long kickboards. So now we are left with the cost of disposing of these?!? This is simply not right. I don't understand how such a company can be so completely shocking at customer service, delivery, etc., in what they do as a business!!!!!
I love that shop, really I love it,From the day I have started our home renovation they and next door orange shop were the 2 who I've been shopping from and all were delivered to my doorstep for free . Second point is whatever I need is always in stock and of good quality and competitive price ! On my last visit I met a member of the staff which I have approached with a simple question where he came out of his way and shared how they done flat roofs repair in the past,on top of that he helped me to load all OSB 3 5 sheets on to my trolley, and for my good luck when I finished shopping,he was collecting a empty trolleys of untidy customers from the parking lot and have seen me pushing the trolley out. He kindly offered to help me load this ontop of my car as the sheets are really heavy. Thank you to that person I don't remember his name but whoever it was,he have earned my custom for life, even If I don't have nothing to buy, still will return to say hello to him,as I really respect the little things that . Thank you Wickes for hiring people that will go the extra mile to help out. This is really appreciated.
Yusuf helped us so much with our kitchen. Went above and beyond. There were other staff we spoke to also, who were also really friendly, helpful and professional. I will never go anywhere else for my projects now.
Bathroom team very helpful good advice for our needs
Went into the Aintree store today quite late to get the makings of a concrete base which filled three trolleys.... Matthew, Luke and Sheila were all really helpful in loading the trolleys, getting a good deal, wheeling them about, replacing burst bags with no hesitation, and they even helped me to load the van and return the trolleys. Thanks for the amazing customer service!
Sheila and Carl were so very helpful and so welcoming. Absolutely polite staff through, and through. Brilliant customer service, will definitely return!!
Great service, easy in and out purchase and one member of staff was a great help when I was looking for brick paint with my mum.
Well stocked and really friendly staff
