Great place for fabric and hobbies. Fabrics by weight and on the roll. Knitting and all sewing accessories. Staff helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit
Powes Castle is wonderful , a fabulous collection of antiques inside in beautiful state rooms and outside a lovely garden with spectacular views from The Italian Terraces with many peacocks roaming about, giving it a special charm, Powys is well worth visit if you are close.....
Horrible staff. Lacks product knowledge. Poor customer service.Reasonable stock. Reasonable price. Mainly Seconds. Steps to entrance. No wheel chair access.
Been going here for 30+ years. It's all on one level now and a little cramped together. Prices are not bad but the good old bargains where you come out with a big bag of fabric for 20 quid are well gone. Best only going on sale days because parking is also paid outside on the meter at £1.20 every 30 mins. It will take well over 30 mins to have a good look around.
So much choice and I loved the quality. I would highly recommend a visit for anyone interested in sewing, knitting or embroidery. Also the staff were all friendly and helpful. Lovely visit, thank you. Also covid safe
Love the range of fabrics and wools all at reasonable prices Not wheelchair accessible several steps .would be difficult if mobility issues
I love this shop, there's fabric for any occasion, tools for crafts, and materials for literally anything you can think of craft related. A few bad experiences though recently with the customer service made me drop a few stars. I always come from far and after work, and last time I got there 15 minutes before the closing time, I was greeted immediately after opening the door of the shop with a screechy voice, yelling at me that the shop was closing in less than 10 minutes. You never know where people come from and what efforts they had made to be there BEFORE closing time, it's very rude to greet customers like this. I walked backwards through the same door and left to go to the shop next door who has also beautiful fabric + great customer service.
It's been a few years since we've been to Abakhan, but went there this afternoon and the women serving and cutting material were so friendly and helpful, vast choice of materials to choose from, the whole experience was amazing
So much selection! Huge store spread over 2 floors, both require use of stairs for access though. There are 2 steps up to the Mezze, then I believe 5 steps down to the bottom level. From here there is a lift that provides access to the upper floor. Not wheelchair accessible, but may help those with limited ability to climb stairs. They have really any kind of haberdashery, fabric, yarn or craft you may be searching for. Sections including fabric by the metre, kg, and offcuts- many standard fabrics as well as more specialist types such as athletic fabrics, PVC, printed faux fur, tablecloth, upholstery and curtains, printed polar fleece. Huge selection of yarns in stock. Embroidery hoops and templates are available as well as larger tapestries. Limited selection of fabric dye. Craft section features paper craft, jewellery making, ornaments and seasonal, die cutting, polymer clays, crafting kits and gift sets. Upstairs there is a specific bridal and occasion wear section. The staff are lovely and helpful, if you need to find something you can just ask and they are fantastic. You can get a coffee over the road in Greekosophy by presenting your Abakhan receipt of a £15 spend or over on the same day. You can also request a loyalty card for Abakhan which is stamped after every £15 purchase to stack up for discounts!
