We got married at Whitley Hall in October last year and definitely made the right choice with the venue. The grounds are beautiful and the staff were very helpful throughout the process. The food and drinks were delicious, some guests are still talking about the beef now! And the breakfast was fresh and plentiful. A big shout out to Joe who was running the show on the day, he was amazing and kept us both cool and collected. I would definitely recommend Whitley Hall and would suggest attending one of their open days/evenings to get a feeling of the place.
Got married here in May, the wedding itself was perfect the wedding coordinator was fab the food was amazing and venue is perfect! Down side.. we got married on a Sunday and stayed the night before which another wedding was on and I hardly slept with the noise the thin walls with people running up and down the hall way shouting. Not ideal when you need some sleep this has been dealt with from the hotel but I’d recommend checking if another wedding is happening the night before. Guests from the wedding had said the drinks are very pricey which now reflects from other reviews. I understand it’s an old building but the rooms do get very hot, minding it was in May and not that hot in the night maybe upgrade to aircon for the prices of the rooms they are. Overall these 3 faults did not affect the wedding and I would highly recommend anyone to get married here maybe just get a drinks package for guests, not stay not before and prepare for a very warm hotel room.
Candid summary of our recent stay. A nice hotel in a beautiful location masquerading as a 4* hotel without the accessories. Pros Location / Clean / Friendly staff Cons No bottled water in room / No air conditioning an electric fan is not worthy / No hair conditioner / Empty bottle of wine in cupboard / Spider web in bathroom / Poor shower water pressure
I've photographed a fair few weddings at Whitley Hall and I've always been well looked after. It's in my top 10 Sheffield wedding venues and has something for everyone. I can't wait for the next wedding I have there. Nate - Dainty.uk
Attended a wedding in the Parker suite, nice amenities and lovely gardens, bar was a little small but it is a smaller venue so wasn't an issue as no big queues Food & drinks: Wedding breakfast was nicely cooked and had no complaints
Spent a wet Sunday here for a wedding. Food was excellent and the staff exemplary. Great location, tucked away in a small north Sheffield valley. Bit of a gem. Loads of parking. Bar prices the only negative, but then that is pretty much the case in most hotels.Rooms: 5/5
Very unprofessional Rebecca using their position at Whitley hall hotel to steel other vendors jobs. Had a booking for over 2 years which now have cancelled because Rebecca at Whitley hall who also is recommended supplier has put obstacles in the brides way. Given them no choice but to go with them. The bride had booked venue dressing, Ferris wheel, Photo Booth, doughnut wall, flowers, table decorations and love letter from me. Absolutely disgusting hope you’re happy to take small businesses work away from people. I went above and beyond for my client with many date changes and venue change, lots of work put in for Rebecca to take my work from me. I don’t have a problem with the venue per say but the Rebecca the head of forever yours has just let your company down by giving brides no choice but to cancel their original suppliers for her own gain. She is representing Whitley hall and in my eyes and quite a few other vendors eyes this is definitely not how to do business.
I would have liked to have given 5 stars but purely on the fact that drinks are so expensive here I have knocked one off. On a more positive note, this hotel is a gorgeous period building with lots of old and quirky features that you would expect from an old building. Located in the hills on the outskirts of Sheffield. We attended a wedding here and stayed overnight, so I can't comment on the surrounding area. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are tastefully decorated and supplied with everything you'd need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The food we were served was exceptional, professionally presented with lots of flavour. I would recommend a stay here, even with my opening comments. Unfortunately, this appears to be the norm nowadays wherever you stay.
Place itself is a stunning venue for a wedding, but be warned, the drinks are an astronomical price! £39 for a bottle of red wine, £34 for a bottle of rose both tasted cheap & nasty and £6.60 for a pint of tetley's!!!Rooms: 4/5
Beautiful hotel. We attended for my sister's wedding and the entire day was perfect. The staff make the whole experience perfect, and they are so accommodating, welcoming and friendly. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, and the Peacock Room is a gorgeous bridal suite, with four poster bed and jacuzzi bath.
