We stayed in a hot tub caravan for a long weekend....its by far the best van we have stayed in! We especially enjoyed the doggy bag and tea/coffee freebies, the towels and the wii console, perfect for whilst storm bert was in full swing! The twin rooms really were tiny but clean and the most comfortable beds/bedding we have slept in.nThe hot tub was delightful and we were very pleasantly surprised to find it is checked and maintained daily during your stay!nThe facilities are lovely! Excellent swimming pool, lovely bar, nice soft play, very cute craft room and little arcade to enjoy.nWe stayed on site for the whole stay as the weather did not allow much else. But we kept us 4 adults and 4 year old entertained.nThe arcade needs some maintenance, the pool table got balls stuck every 3 pots, the table tennis table had no ball, and a couple of the older games had some issues with their screens.nThe staff were very helpful and so very polite, no one could do enough for us. Especially with it being so quiet and out of season.nWe really enjoyed our stay, however I wouldn't be visiting in the height of busy season, the facilities can only cater for small crowds. Our stay was lovely because it was so quiet, but I can't imagine it would be much fun in the changing rooms/soft play/ hayloft bar if the park was full of families...but that is only our preference. I very much recommend this gorgeous little park, perfect for a family weekend and very close to shops/takeaways/fuel also
I've been coming here since I was a small child along with my parents and older brother. When we first stayed it was still a working farm! Since then we have seen the site grow and develop into a complete holiday complex. I've brought my children here and now we stay as older adults. Since 2004 when youngest was born, we've only stayed in the static caravans and most recently one of their luxurious lodges. All the facilities on site are excellent! Indoor pool is very relaxing, outdoor pool is ideal for the kids. The Granary is perfect for family entertainment and The Hayloft great for the grown ups. The site Shop stocks a good range of basics. We will be back every year for a dose of Devon countryside, love it here!
We stayed in a touring pitch for 2 nights last weekend and had an incredible time. The site is excellent; spacious, clean, and friendly. The toilet block is clean and warm with free hot showers. The entertainment acoustic guitarist was brilliant and the bar is great. The outdoor pool is free to use and there is an arcade for children. We also did the beautiful riverside walk to Stoke Gabriel which you access via a coded gate from the bottom of the site. Everything about this site was excellent; we'll definitely be returning.
Whitehill Country Park.nA Family orientated park that's so quiet.nHaving pitches for mobile homes,Tents, Clamping pods, which are looked after.nThe 8 lodges are of to high standard and positioned on an elevation overlooking the field of tents. Static caravans with decking surrounds are the one's we normally choose. The ones with hot tubs.nWe return on Monday 24th June to the same caravan as last year and the year before. Outside lifeguard operated swimming pool is great for all.nNew to the park is an indoor swimming pool. The Hayloft bar veranda overlooks the pool,so keeping an eye on the swimmers is great. Food, activities and entertainment is also great. The only downside to this park, which we as a family have been coming to for 7 years in total is the road leading up to/from it. It's a single track road with blind bends. Small passing bays are available but they're not designed for the larger caravans or vehicles. CARE must be taken when navigating this road and concentration must be 100%,otherwise it's a great place to have a holiday .
We stayed in one of the glamping pods at the campsite, and I will begin by mentioning that aspects first. The pod itself is situated in a favourable location within the site, and I can envision that it was lovely when they were new. However, the surrounding area of the pods currently appears neglected. The track for cars leading up to the pods is muddy and not of the same standard as the rest of the site. The paths around the pods are covered in weeds, and the decking on the pod we occupied was rotting with a hole forming.nnMoving on to the interior of the pod, the first thing that struck us and lingered on all our clothing, bedding, and belongings after we got home was an overpowering smell of some kind cleaning product. While the pod itself was clean, the smell was unpleasantly strong. The pod offered a decent amount of space, with a sofa bed. However, the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, and I have slept on more comfortable surfaces, including floors.nnThe facilities at the site were generally satisfactory, with the exception of the outdated toilet block and showers. The staff members were pleasant and helpful.
