Waterside Holiday Park

Started going to the Waterside in the 70's with with my mum n dad, that's when the trees were still only small, the Caravans had no running water, no toilets and no TVs. Shower blocks was where you washed and if you wanted hot water you had to put 2 Bob in the timed meter(but I new a fiddle so I got it for free 😉) water to drink come from a standpipe and men and women's toilets were next to the showers. Those were the days😁 Now all mod cons lovely pool and Clubhouse, shop has expanded but still in the same place and the restaurant is fair value for where it is. Have brought my wife n kids here on several occasions from 2004ish to when the current owners took it over. But alas I won't go back in a hurry because of the new owners, if you're on a budget as we are we have to put up with the Bronze Caravans of which stink like dirty Kennels as these are the ones for dog owners. I have dog allergies and don't own dogs, so the smell and the left over fur from the dogs makes me itch and come up. Basically was told I had to have silver or upwards to avoid this situation. The prices for the two weeks at peak time is more expensive the two weeks in northern Italy self catering. So prejudice and discrimination against people on budgets that don't have pets. So all in all nice site but overpriced for its location and if you don't earn above the average wage they don't want working class there and the staff once questioned about this just gave vague and political answers and nothing concrete.

Nan & Grandad started going to Waterside when my mother was small, all the family go to this site to this day. Myself have took my girls there from babies & now 23 years on for me & all I still return, absolutely can't say nothing bad about the place. Beautiful views, fantastic walks & on site it's own little cove. Steam train comes right past the site & personally brings back memories of old days.

Cracking holiday, the site is really clean, helpful staff. The caravan was fantastic, clean and very comfortable. Great seeing the steam train passing regularly throughout the day. Will definitely be returning

It's got to be one of the best places to stay within easy reach of the bus services run every 20 minutes.Really quite park and well maintained
