Great food, great staff. We got a flat tire just before we found the Wheatsheaf. We ate there while we waited on a tow (no spare). When it took hours for the truck to show up, the manager let my family stay inside to wait, well after they closed. He had no idea how hellish our trip had been up to that point, he was just being kind. Our trip turned around that night, thanks to their kindness and hospitality.

Food was truly terrible we had to return the children's food twice the chef needs to back away from the microwave!!!!! But all other staff were fantastic very apologetic and only charged for the drinks table manor was perfect also. Such a shame how poor the food was.

A really outstanding Sunday lunch for a very reasonable price. A large choice of meats for Sunday lunch with delicious trimmings, potatoes were crisp and fluffy and the veg was beautifully cooked. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful about allergens and there was a delicious vegan chocolate torte on the menu for dessert! Would recommend booking on a Sunday as we were lucky to get the last free table in the house!

What would have been a sombre occasion, being that it was a family gathering to honour the passing of a dear family member was as it transpired an occasion whereby family members who had not met up in a very long time, enjoyed exchanging happy memories in very pleasant surroundings and eating a fabulous extensive Buffet. If this was typical of the kind of food and service available at the Wheatsheaf, I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue for any get together!

Went here on a Thursday evening with my girlfriend and son. Ordered the rump steak that is only 8 pounds on a Thursday evening. Service was very attentive. And fast. The food arrived fairly quickly. Only mistake was my steak arrived with chips when I ordered a jacket. Was soon rectified and I got to keep the chips. The bill didn't break the bank. Was sat in front of a roaring fire. Very nice will return.
