Went to check the kennels out for my dogs before I booked them in. OMG.. Why would anyone let their pet stay there! The kennels were freezing, bedding disgusting and there was faeces in every pen and walls were very dirty. I wouldn't let a cockroach stay there. Avoid!!!!!!
I have used these kennels twice. The 2nd time was because I was absolutely desperate after being dropped in it while I was already away! I felt so guilty having to use them. My poor dog came back even more skeletal than the first time! I had to throw his bedding away because it stank and was covered in wood shavings! My poor boy smelled worse than his bedding, he came back with old chewed up toys that weren't even his and to top it off, he got kennel cough! PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR DOG HERE! They've had the cheek to put their prices up too! These people should not be allowed to run a kennel. I honestly don't know how they still have a licence! Don't ask for a pre stay inspection, they'll make as many excuses up for why you can't go in! Please, save yourself and your dog some heartache and STAY AWAY. If I could give it a minus star rating, I would!
Disgusting filthy neglected place behind large gates and long leafy drive. A hidden nightmare behind for stray dogs that is never open to view. Dogs die and disappear in here, rspca has closed them down before as parvo ridden. and needs to again. Why do the council keep giving these unpleasant ppl the tender?
I can't speak highly enough of Cleadon Kennels. Our experience adopting our first ever rescue, Arlo, from them was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the staff were incredibly receptive and made us feel welcome. The adoption process was swift and seamless, which was a relief as we were eager to bring Arlo into our home as soon as possible. The staff were knowledgeable and provided us with all the information we needed to ensure Arlo's transition into our family was smooth. Arlo has brought so much joy into our lives, and we are forever grateful to Cleadon Kennels for bringing him into our lives. If you're considering adopting a furry friend, I highly recommend paying them a visit. Their dedication to finding loving homes for their rescues is truly commendable.
Visited with my friend her dog who is in the kennel and I was shocked, little dog was dirty, smelly and soo skinny, all his ribs were out . Staff dragged him back , very nasty way . I will never put my dog there.
Terrible experience. If I could give 0 stars I would. We found a dog roaming the streets and had to follow procedure to take her to the emergency vets, she was then taken to West Hall Kennels. The attitude of their staff is horrific, rude on the phone, dismissive and constantly just fobbed off when asking for them to assist with the microchip details. When we went to visit the dog who is now thankfully in our care, we were advised they don’t flea or worm their dogs that go into the rescue, yet they board other peoples dogs too and all work around them! The managers wife was unbelievably rude to me over the phone on countless occasions and even called me a liar at one point! Would NEVER board my dogs there, wouldn’t recommend anyone else ever does and I most certainly will be reaching out to the local authority to inform them of my awful experience.
Simply put - it’s a kill shelter. Please PLEASE avoid this place. They don’t care at all about any of the animals and WILL make them suffer.
Looked after my 12 year old lab for 3 nights. She was well cared for and really happy there. All her needs were catered for. Big thank you to the kennel staff who were friendly and helpful. Very reasonable prices too.
They always have space for dogs.Only £17 a night. Nice polite staff
These kennels are appalling and should be closed down. I had my two dogs booked in for the weekend of 4th to 6th September. I cannot describe what I encountered when I walked into the indoor kennels. The smell from the wet floor, a mixture of urine and disinfectant - was so strong that it remained in my nose for hours. I hasten to add I did not leave my dogs here and had to rearrange my plans for the weekend. Just to be clear this review is for West Hall Boarding Kennels - not the local authority rehoming kennels which are opposite.
