Great boarding Kennels in a stunning and convenient location. Family run Kennels and the whole family are so kind to the animals and care about their wellbeing. Our 2 girls loved it here and will definitely return. 5* service with a smile.
Cannot fault these kennels and the service. Excellent. For once my dogs happily entered and I did not need to drag or carry them in as I have done in the past at other places. Lovely, caring and professional staff
Tarril boarding kennels are amazing, Pauline and her husband always looked after my doberman, Diesel, everytime I go on holiday. They are brilliant with him, they treat him as if they were their own.
Phoned up for price which thought was reasonable at the time so we put our dog in and asked for groom and clip, whilst away we asked for some pics to be emailed across just for peace of mind which they were ok with. Unfortunately the pics never came despite emails and phone calls asking whilst away, then when we picked our dog up they said they removed the price of the groom and clip as this had not been done, but they assure us that the bed we provided had been washed, didn't ask for that but if they had washed my dog I'm sure it wouldn't of came back stinking of urine. Since getting the dog back, he tends to hide in the corner and the food he consumed was unbelievable, usually a bowl of food would last a full day but it was going almost immediately and he downed the water we put out for him. If using get the price in writing as our price as gone up considerably.
Used since 1983 when we finally found them. Very caring staff, animals in very good hands. Would recommend to anyone as everyone's animals shown great amount of love. All they ask is for animals to be vaccinated up to date taking their cards in with you and the kennel cough jab. They have a vet on hand, if nec will get in touch with you where you're staying if you leave a number or number of residence. If you have more than one dog they have family kennels so dogs can be housed together if preferred. We did that with the last two as they lived in the house together getting on all right. It stops fretting. I don't know how much these are today but give them a ring and they'll let you know. There was one time I went when they overbooked so my dog was taken home by a kennel maid to be looked after for the length of our break. Seven of our dogs have been in here, 4 Boxers, a. Cairn, an Airedale, and a Spaniel, the eighth, another Aíredale becoming a regular visitor now. Each have been well looked after during their stay. If any drugs necessary none have been missed. They take dogs, cats, also smaller pets such as rabbits, cavies etc. Registered pet groomers doing an excellent job for their money. It's obvious they love every animal they look after. Breed German Shepherds for police besides running Kennels. Both owners Pauline and Stuart Nye are registered judges for dog shows. We've used them since we came here in 1983 and my opinion, from this at the start, has only got better.
Picked my girl up tonight having left her at Tarril for 2 nights and days when we couldn't get her in at her usual kennels. The staff are lovely on drop off however... Whilst collecting her I noticed there were a number of seperate urine puddles in her kennel- at least 4, and next to no water in her bowl during mid 20degree heat. I also spotted there was no water available to the dog next to her. As soon as we got home she had 3 poos 1 after the other. This evening she had been extremely stressed and smells of urine. All signs of lack of enrichment/care which we have never encountered after she has had longer stays at Mypetstop. Will not be taking her back to Tarril.
Put our cat in this place for a week and never again. Took him Tuesday afternoon and collected him the following Wednesday afternoon so realistically although we were charged for 9 days it was 8 days. Every other cattery has charged us how many nights the cat is there not days. We picked him up yesterday and he was starving and he has never left our side since so I doubt any love or attention was given to him. Charged us £126 and we provided the food which I think they must of used for other cats as I have never seen him so hungry and although I haven't weighed him I can see his weight has dropped by picking him up. This is the most we have ever paid and some of the other catteries we have gone are fantastic. Shame the rest were full when booking and this place was the only one with spaces and I now know why. The holding pens are small with other cat hair everywhere so a bit of cleaning wouldn't go a miss.
Picked my dog up yesterday at 4.30pm he was dead by 7pm! Pure neglect! Not one phone call to emergency numbers to say he was unwell or vet to go see him, he sat in his own urine for days he was covered in sores and absolutely stunk! He was like skin and bone when I picked him up and he couldn’t even stand I had to carry him to the car and straight to the vets where he had to be put to sleep due to kidney failure! Stay well away the place needs shutting down!! Not even an apology from owner when I went to see him today! Absolutely vile
Left my cat in there for ten nights . When I returned the owner said there had been absolutely no problems and had just eaten a full tin of tuna . When we got the cat home and took it out of its carrier it was virtually dead. The poor animal could not stand and was dragging itself across the floor. I took the animal to the vets and she stated there was nothing she could do for it as it was so poorly . I accept the cat was old but why on earth did they not contact me or a vet as it was clearly in great distress. The owner even admitted that it had gone down hill over the last few days but did nothing about it . I wouldn’t leave a cockroach with these people and the place needs shutting down
Post from Dionne Pickersgill: I was so excited to pick vinnie up today from the kennels to find him in an absolute state! He couldn’t even stand up, thick of hair, sores and severely dehydrated!! They had 3 numbers to contact if anything was wrong and not had one phone call! Took him straight to the emergency vets and he’s had to be put to sleep due to kidney failure, vets have said he’s been severely poorly for a few days so why has the kennels not getting a vet?! He’s been so neglected im so devastated. Vinnie has stayed here before a few times and was fine so I put my trust in them and they have failed! I’m so heartbroken to have to put my boy down, he really was the best dog I love u so much vinnie this was the state he was in when I picked him up! This is the post from my sister-in-law, Vinnie was collected at around 4:50pm and was dead by 7pm
