The remains of a preserved 3rd century Roman bath-house.
The 3rd century Roman bath house at Welwyn, Hertfordshire is part of the remains of what was the Dicket Mead Roman Villa. The bath-house is all that remains of the site today and the bath-house monument is presrved in an ingenious steel-lined vault underneath the A1(M).
The site is located off junction 6 of the A1(m) on the Welwyn bypass road. The site is open 2-5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank holidays from January-November and 2-5pm everyday during Hertfordshire school holidays. For more info go to our website www.welhat.gov.uk/romanbaths
