We had lunch here before our walks near Thor's Cave. Plenty choices on lunch menu. Burger was great but fish & chips not. Chips could be improved. However, the service was quick and attentive.
Traditional pub in a lovely setting serving excellent pub food at a good price. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and a big thanks to them & the chef who managed to fit us in for meals even though we were after the cut off time on Fri and again when they were already fully booked on Sat. Should have pre booked early I know! Both meals were great. We stayed in the campsite at the rear of the pub using the pub, which has all the facilities you need shower room, washing up area, water, electric hook up & use of the pub toilets - basic but adequate and clean. A nice peaceful site surrounded by lovely places and great for walking. Will definitely try to return.
Great traditional pub in a really nice village. Friendly staff and locals. Fantastic beer garden I could have sat there all day enjoying the sunshine and views. A choice of traditional cask ales as well as a few lagers and ciders. Great pitstop if your doing the Tissington trail.
Attended to find the club rally had been cancelled. We'd travelled some distance the campsite behind the pub was fully booked, landlord Steve moved some of the staffs vehicles and allowed us to squeeze in next to the site entrance, all he asked in return was we popped in for a couple of drinks. Fantastic friendy staff great beer, beautiful pub and village will definitely call again. Thank you
The hosts were fantastic who went out of their way to be helpful. The meals were reasonably priced with good portions. The campsite facilities were as expected, however they allowed us to use a fireplace when we asked. The showers were great and fairly powerful for their type. Overall, we had a good time with excellent hosts.
Had some drinks there, nice friendly service, good prices. Then booked dinner for 4 on New years day! Beef Roast, beef was the toughest I've ever had the misfortune to try and cut! Lets hope the new year turns out better than the beef!
Nice trditional pub with well kept beer. We had beef and ale pie which was a bit bland. It was served with white cabbage and cauliflower with mashed potatoes so the plate looked colourless. Friendly staff.
One of my favourite pubs in the peaks. Great friendly service, good food, lovely cosy pub. Me my wife and little girl went there every day over our xmas holiday and loved it.
Excellent food today . Fantastic home cooked . Washed down with a few nice draft pale ales. The wife said her haddock was good . The cheese burger was excellent . All round lovely lunch .
