Lovely countryside pub. Super friendly staff, super polite and accommodative, lovely vibe. Staff knew things about drinks and dishes. Local produce, delicious food. We had the lamb shank and pork belly and it all came after a short wait and it tasted fresh and beautiful. We had the local keg beers and the larger in particular was very good. You can go for a nice countryside walk after your meal. Will definitely be back. Don’t forget to book though as it was fully booked when we went!
Lovely popular pub restaurant just off the main road at Hurdlow. All locally sourced ingredients making for some lovely food, and at decent prices too. Great staff keeping the punters happy. Recommend booking in advance as it does get busy so may not take walk ins. Both dishes we had were tasty and good size portions.
This week we had two nights at the Pub's campsite. The facilities for the campers were spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and they did a walkabout each day to make sure we were happy with everything. On both nights we had a meal inside the pub. All of the staff were very professional and friendly. The food and drink was excellent. Thank you to all involved for providing such a great experience.
Wonderful pub with very friendly staff. We walked from Chelmorton ~1 hour through the rain and wind and we were greeted by staff who sat us at a table near the fire to dry off. They were very kind as they accommodated for our dogs who were also soaked through and cold. Food here is lovely, just a shame we didn't get to try more! The locals are also friendly and we had nice chats with a few people. The pub is quite big with lots of seating inside and outdoors.
Great food, good vegan options. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. We'll worth the 20 mile bike ride! Ample bike storage. They even filled up our water bottles!
We prebooked Saturday 5.15pm and glad we did as every table was taken. There's a  large menu choice. Certainly something there for everyone.  They also had a specials board which we ordered from,  sharing beef nachos as a starter.  Very nice plenty of chilli beef on top. Good flavours. For main I had a special of braised pig cheek with garlic/Mustard mash, green veg and sherry/red wine reduction. It was excellent. Tender pig cheeks the sauce was delicious and the veg cooked perfectly.. My husband had the Lamb burger with Oak chips. The Burger had feta and tzatziki and a side of coleslaw he thought it was 'nice'/'average'. The side of Mac n cheese was sadly bland and didn't have any cheese flavour. We didn't have room for pudding but there was lots of offer and what we saw of them the portions were generous. Good service and reasonable prices food with 3 pints of beer and 1 pint of Pepsi Max £60.00 exactly.
Took a lovely trip into the Dales with our 3 children to surprise a familiar face who we haven't seen for quite a few years, further more was delighted to be served by our very own Danni Lawrence!! Todays visit was exquisite, we have come home completely full still saying 'Wow' having very very much enjoyed all our dishes...good portions, meats were cooked beautifully even for the fussy eater and flavours were on point + Philly Steak Burger + Beef & Stilton Pie + Butternut Squash & Spinach Lasagne + Local Butcher's Sausages kids Tried the Cask Ales...Daily Bread Atlantic My husband and I are partial to a bit of Fine Dining, in a cosy setting and welcoming environment to which all members of staff delivered. The ambiance was as expected with its own touches of wonderful decor. Dog friendly ofcourse...it was a joy to see the children get aquainted with a couple of furry friends We look forward to visiting again!!
Cosy and quaint with great quality, great value food and professional service. Located 10mins outside of Buxton with a walking/cycling trail right on the doorstep. They seem to have camping pitches and outdoor dining space for summer months. Dogs are welcome.
Really lovely food. We had Sunday Roast, beef and veg. Local produce. Friendly staff. Big parking. A nice long walk down the side. Added to my to-do again list
Excellent Food and very well presented. Great Service and Great Staff. Decent Pie it was Chicken Balti Pie of the day. Want to stay for dessert as it was so nice but we had Birthday Cake waiting at the Lodge. Plus it was a decent pint of Cider and enjoyed it so much wanted to have another pint. See you soon again in future.
