Went for dinner as staying in the village. Super friendly staff and good service. Proper pub food, tasty and good portions. A good selection of local ales on too. Nice little log burner going and lots of different areas to sit. Some seating outside on the little green to the front of the pub. Worth a visit. Went back a second time and had the steak and ale pie… was great. Highly recommend.
This is just the perfect village pub...and possibly rates as one of my favourite pubs now. It's a super cosy, traditional pub. Good beer, dog friendly. Beautiful setting too.
Lovely country pub serving good beers and classic British dishes. The pub has tables outside the front on the village green, which makes it a great rest stop on a long walk.

Impromptu stop at this pub. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and given the quality of the food and drink it’s really reasonably priced. We both had the homemade steak pie and it was delicious. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
This is a very traditional English pub which has kept a certain old world charm . The service was excellent - polite , respectful and friendly . The food was really good - we had the fish and chips which was fresh with crispy batter . Followed by a very nice crumble . My only advice would be to improve little details like the chipped table mats . The pub is in a charming village and would really recommend .
Brilliant little find. We went there tonight Wednesday 9th and the bar was lovely and full. We booked a table and luckily there was one spare. The place was so welcoming and friendly. We’ve just had the most excellent meal - the steak and ale pie was proper home cooked and was ACTUALLY a pie; not just a pastry topping. My salmon was cooked to perfection. Would have had the bread and butter pudding as it looked delicious but couldn’t fit it in. Other half said the beer was kept nicely too. Definitely one to visit if you’re in the area.
Visited on a Friday evening in September. Very cosy pub in a beautiful village. Noticed it is certainly a much loved pub for locals, but they also really welcome those on holiday, this was emphasised with the world map on the wall of which you could add a pin to show where you're from - very interesting! The food was excellent - classic pub meals, however they were beautifully presented and tasted gorgeous. The young girl serving was very friendly and attentive, albeit very busy taking orders and taking out meals. Would love to go again.
Excellent food and a good choice of real ales, all local. Not the cheapest place but Sunday roast was very good and the fruit crumble was home made and delicious Will definately call again for a meal. Pub was full of diners and drinkers and has always been renowned for good meals and is a popular spot in the village.
Amazing day! It doesn’t look from the pictures on Google but it is amazing inside and the food is great! Went here for work do and it was great! Definitely will be visiting again. The place is also only 3 min away from St. Peter’s Square
