A good castle to visit. Well presented inside the castle. Buying tickets in advance will save money.nnSome activities for kids but you have to pay extra for some. Not all events run throughout the year. So check the events calendar.nnCar park is far away from the main entrance. There is a bus service from the car park to the main entrance, otherwise it is a 15-20 minutes walk to the main entrance from the car park.nnYou will need to spend a day to cover the attractions. There is a hotel inside as well if you want to stay overnight.nnThere were a few food stalls inside the castle. Expect to walk a fair bit and climb steps.
We bought tickets using the 40% off as locals from the surrounding area. This helped with the cost.nnWe watched the War of the Roses show and then the Falconry show. Make sure you que up early for these very popular shows for the best views. The shows were spectacular.nnWe also visited the dungeons. The actors were brilliant and very good when part of our group found the show too scary. The dungeons are 8+ for a reason. It's dark and scary, and you are in close proximity to the actors and the show.nnWe also enjoyed the inside of the castle. Fabulous displays of the items of the castle and wax works of historic visitors/residents. The lower floor showed the former working life of the castle by previous Earls of Warwick.nnOverall, it was a great day out.
Perhaps the most spectacular medieval castle in the UK, far larger than any I had visited before. The variety of attractions are perfect for children and families, but the historical displays and battlement walks are more than enough to keep adults engaged as well!
We've visited here several times and it's always one of our favourite places to go. There's plenty of things to do for the whole family.nThe Castle itself and the views from the towers are stunning.nThe gardens and grounds are immaculate and it's a pleasure to spend time with a coffee at the Conservatory overlooking the gardens.
Almost 45yrs since I last visited here, on a school trip. Brought lots of childhood memories back, and had an absolutely fantastic day out. It’s things like this that remind you just how great England really is, and how lucky we are to have so much rich heritage around us. A lovely warm August day obviously helped. Did the castle dungeon tour too which was good and funny at the same time! Saw the jousting from a distance whilst eating my lunch in a seated area. Forgot how unfit I am - let’s just say there were enough steps for the lactic acid to kick in! Every child I saw was smiling and laughing - which is usually a good indication of things to come. Plenty of places to sit. Very clean and tidy - no litter whatsoever and lots of bins. Not the cheapest day out, granted - but then it can’t possibly be cheap to maintain everything there either. Can’t recommend enough - plenty to do for all ages. Came away beaming. Thanks very much.
