Had a lovely stay at this hotel. It has a very nice calm atmosphere and a lot of interesting historical items everywhere around the hotel. The original 1927 lift between the stairs is amazing. I really enjoyed the light piano music being played whilst having an evening drink in the lounge bar area. The outside seating area is relaxing too.
We stayed one night. Now we deliberately did not want standard Premier Inn we wanted character and charm and this place had it in spades. The breakfast was wonderful. The rooms clean and had a lovely bay window. Shower could do with some more power but not the end of the world. Lovely towels. Above all the service was second to none, booked us taxis, asked now things were, 24 hour concierge. There were historical curiosities everywhere and the whole place was vibrating with history. The location, just north of the centre, was perfect, just opposite the sea pool. The veranda was lovely and the owner a character. I hope it carries on for many years to come.
Fantastic night away with friends. We loved being surrounded by art and all the collections in the museum. We stayed in a family suite and it was perfect for us. Comfy, clean and lovely sea views. Friendly, kind and welcoming staff with lovely extra touches like a hot water bottle after swimming in the tidal pool. Delicious breakfast. We'll be back. X
This is an eccentric hotel. However, the staff are lovely & welcoming. We stayed in a superior double room with balcony as we had a dog. They are so accommodating with pets. They set you up a table in the bar area so you can have breakfast with your pet. They are not allowed in the restaurant area, so if there's 2 of you this isn't a problem as you do it in tango. Breakfast was lovely. We stayed 3 nights & breakfast never disappointed us. Due to its location it is a fair walk into Margate, but a pleasant walk along the top of the sea line.
Right by the beachfront, with excellent service from staff. We weren't able to stay for bed and breakfast due to having to set off the next morning and were offered a packed lunch instead. The staff made you feel incredibly welcome and the decor and style of the hotel was unique and quirky with a sense of history. Family run too apparently, well worth a visit and would come again.
