It is easy to say what the station can offer other than train journeys NOTHING. No ticket office No toilets No staff No cafe No pub. Poor information boards. It probably looks much like it did when it was first built and needs improvements. Good news, my train was on time
This was an efficient station to get off the Knottingley train at, with a well-sized platform for the train that only had the problem of a good portion of the area being closed off for construction. Displays for journeys are fully modernized and on all 3 platforms, while the signs make navigating around very easy and the subway is a smooth connection between the last 2 platforms and platform 1; it was clean and bright throughout when I visited! The station's sign was in solid condition and so was the roof, also the seats are a neat addition.
Definitely the worst train station! There is not even a functioning waiting room. It was several degrees minus zero when I was there. There is also no toilet. Needless to say no lounge. Don’t arrive early at this station. I felt very unsafe
So when these ticket machines are out of orderwhich is regularlyand cannot get a ticket or even a 'promise to pay' voucher,you are at the mercy of the train guard on whether they believe u or not,or have to explain yourself at next station if no guard on train.I would rather not put myself in that position we all know how greedy train staff are ,and would like to fine you.So won't bother going from here again.
Less facilities than Westgate at the other side of town, but functional.
