An hourly service between Wakefield and Knottingley is a good one. They could run through to Goole fairly soon. Another improvement could result in trains running from Wakefield to Selby via here. Friends of Pontefract Stations can campaign for the four stations and help raise funds and resources for them. I've been here a few times.

Trains are usually on time on this line and you'll get a seat most days. Unmanned station so but your ticket on the train.
