I had heard the rooms weren't the cheapest however when you get inside you won't be disappointed. I've stayed in 4 star hotels that didn't have rooms as good. The place is 2 mins away from the Lake, shops, bars and restaurants and although it doesn't have a bar the Royal Oak is immediately next door that does bar meals and has a good selection of real ales, lager and wines/spirits. The rooms are clean, well appointed and have a mini fridge and tea/coffee. There was no bath in our room only a shower but when we got in it I can only describe it as being woken up by a baseball bat of water, a real proper power shower and we quickly were glad there was no bath. Breakfast was excellent and there's a choice of full English, continental or various other selections which were more than enough. Staff are very helpful and the service was good. All in all a real good B and B, it's not a hotel but better than most hotels we've stayed in throughout the Lakes

This traditional B&B is right in the centre of Bowness, which grants you easy access to all the village amenities. Rooms are clean and spacious. You even have a fridge at your disposal. The breakfast at Virginia cottage is just great, with typical English favorites cooked to a high standard. There's off-site parking just a minute's walk away. We really liked the homely touch of providing sherry and biscuits in the afternoon. Overall we've had a very pleasant stay here and can only recommend it.

Lovely host! Breakfast was delicious, and the room was beautiful! We had a great time! hope to come back again some time soon! :)
