Very lovely gym and staff team, clean and great equipment + classes.nn3 stars given for the fact you can never get in touch with reception. Needed to call ahead and got out through to the customer service teams and on hold for so long we had to cut the call. We’ve recently moved to Chelmsford from Colchester. The David Lloyd reception in Colchester was always available to help answer any questions so a shame as it can be done.
The staff here are absolute pro, so professional, welcoming, and genuinely invested in helping me smash my fitness targets. What I love most is the inclusive atmosphere. The classes are fantastic, bringing together both the younger and older generations in one high-energy space,na gym that balances that perfectly!nIt’s also the go-to spot for my teenage son and his friends; they absolutely love hitting the gym floor and sauna while I get my workout fix in class. It’s a win-win for the family! If you’re looking for a supportive, top-tier environment in Chelmsford, this is it.
The staff at Virgin Active Chelmsford are outstanding. At reception, they’re warm, friendly, and can’t do enough to help you. The instructors push you in fitness classes while also creating such an inclusive and fun environment.nnThe gym facilities are excellent, with plenty of equipment for most types of workouts no matter your preference.nnThe kids’ club is the icing on the cake. My daughter adores the wonderful Club V ladies, they’re so lovely and take such good care of the little ones with fun activities, soft play, sports, and arts and crafts. We often receive complaints that we picked her up too early!nnBefore joining last year, it had been years since I’d felt such a community feel from a gym, and that’s really down to the incredible team!
Really nice gym, best I’ve been to in Chelmsford. The staff were super helpful with a problem I had and I was pleased to have it sorted so nicely. I was always sure i’d have help on the floor too and the sauna and spa are a great bonus.
This gym has really gone downhill recently. They don't invest money into new equipment. It's absolutely filthy everywhere. Most weight machines have started to rust and in need of deep cleaning. Reception staff is unfriendly and don't make you feel welcome and the worst part is that they have a cheek to increase membership prices on regular basis.nI've been coming here for many years and I'm very disappointed with the state of this gym.
