I have the utmost trust in The Vintage Watch Company and I have bought several vintage Rolex watches from them. I am not an easy customer and they have always exceeded my expectations. I will continue to purchase from them in the future and as a collector of many things, I will likely buy many more watches from them in the future.
David Silver is fantastic and the shop is so beautiful. Definitely go if you’re in the market for a vintage Rolex.
Extremely pleasant experience visiting The Vintage Watch Company, personnel were very friendly and showed me a couple of watches, will visit again next time I stop through London.
Never having seen a 1016 Explorer, seeing three in the window was already a five star experience I was admitted into Aladdin’s cave, explained I was not able to buy, and asked if I might see the 1016s. I was given all the time I needed, and had a very positive experience - thanks for taking the time, you made my day
I went into the shop 2 days ago in for two potential watches one for myself and a Christmas gift for my mother and as soon as I walked in immediately i was treated horrendously I asked a few questions about 1 watch and wanted to look around at the options. As soon I starting looking at the other cases the bald man who works in the shop opened the door for a older couple at the door, who he probably thought were more likely to buy a watch then me and handed me a card welcomed them in and held the door open and then proceeded to tell me there was not enough space for me in the shop and told me to leave while I was looking at other watches and had only been in there for literally 2 minutes, bear in mind there was only myself in the shop before he let the couple in. Disgusting service I highly recommend not to buy anything from this shop.
Terrible experience. I Collect Rolex and Patek. Asked a simple question re authenticity process and he said I insulted him. Amazing with that attitude he has a viable business. And prices seemed exceptionally high relative to other vintage suppliers and why a 20% off sale??
Albeit I be late with my review. I was on the hunt for a specific year watch, lo and behold the shop had not one but two. I went inside and was kindly shown both as well as some other options similar but not the year I was looking at. I tried both on, and the gentleman was nice - not pushy and said to think about it. Which I did and came back before the shop closed to buy it. Family ran, father and daughter were in the store and we were talking for ages. They even kindly gifted me a coffee table book of all vintages watches. Would go back and recommend - team were very knowledgeable
An absolutely horrible experience. John is of the upmost arrogance, went in there to purchase a vintage GMT and straight from the beginning the person serving me insinuated I could not afford the watch. After he saw that I was wearing a Patek his tone changed at which point I made my mind to leave. Atrocious customer service, would never ever visit again. So many better other watch shops in the arcade. Pathetic
WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE CAUTION David Silver clearly knows very little about the product he sells, though he offers an utterly pointless guarantee that his watches have 100% all original Rolex parts. With nothing to back that up. He is incredibly dismissive, rude, condescending and arrogant. I had been warned about this company by other watch collectors and watch dealers in UK and also in Netherlands - but truly didn't believe retailers could be as awful as I'd been told. Sadly they are. The slew of bad reviews on here are 1,000% correct. I walked in yesterday wearing a steel Daytona 6263 - worth around 120,000pounds - with pride - hoping it may at least show I'm a serious collector and can afford the pieces I asked about. I enquired about a 1984 yellow gold Daytona. From his responses and attitude it's very clear that he: - doesn't care if they make sales or not - doesn't have real knowledge of the core product - doesn't care what potential customers think / say about them I advise any TRUE enthusiasts to go elsewhere - to dealers with fair prices, knowledge - and smiles. Pretty much every dealer other than here. Duggans and Maunder are within 1min walk, also in Burlington Arcade - I'd suggest going directly to either of those.
Some time ago I had bought two watches from this merchant one of which was quite valuable at the very high end of what the store offers.’I walked in causally dressed jeans and blazer wearing a basic Rolex that was my fathers I very politely asked some questions about some watches I was interested in as well as some that I owned considering putting a very expensive one on consignment and the owner said “You don’t look like you could afford a watch in my store”. I politely left the store. My accent is American and I clearly sensed that my accent and smart casual was not to the owners liking. The owner is quite old, crotchety, rude and does not understand that many wealthy people today do not ostensibly show their wealth and that all customers should be treated with respect. I will never walk into this store again. If you are in Burlington Arcade make your way to David Duggan a much more professional and client centric establishment.
