We had a comfortable, last minute stay at the Vine hotel. The family room was adequate for our needs, with comfortable beds and bath and shower. Unfortunately no bedding was supplied for the pull out child bed and our two small children had to share the single sofa bed. There was also no shower gel or shampoo in the room, which would have made our stay better. The breakfast was pleasant enough, although no bread or pastries were available. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The location is good. Very close to the town centre. The family room was just large enough, but a bit past its best. No shampoo or shower gel was provided, just a soap dispenser by the basin. Breakfast was pleasant enough and the service was fine, although checking-in required a trip to the bar to find a member of staff, as there was nobody at reception.

Decided late this year that we were going to have Christmas dinner out and the usual places we'd have gone to were booked up. After much searching we were about to give up when the other half just happened to pop in here for a coffee whilst in town. Booking was a simple form with food selection and the price was well below other places we'd been looking at. Having eaten here previously we knew that the food would be of decent standard and the service friendly. Our Christmas day dinner didn't disappoint. Portions were properly not super sized and all that was offered was well prepared and well cooked. The port and onion soup starter was sublime. Service was friendly and attentive and being near to the kitchen it was possible to hear the chatter between staff- all seemed to be enjoying the experience which was good to hear. Minimal fuss and good service helped make our relaxed Christmas day what it was.

The place is handy and pretty decently-priced but the bar shuts at 11 on a weekend and there's no residents' licence. Rooms are fine but our bed was a bit too soft (big mattress topper). Shower was basic but functional. TV was modern and car parking g handy once you know.

Nice little hotel in a convenient location for those staying overnight in stafford. Rooms were a good size with a large bed and all the standard accessories. Bathroom was a little cramped in my room but it was clean and tidy. I wouldn't recommend it to older guests as the stairs were very steep, And quite hard to get up and down especially as you have to push/pull open a heavy fire door as you are walking up the stairs in order to get to the rooms! Food was nice and well cooked - over all a nice place. Would stop again but may need a lift to get up the stairs!
