Great, friendly, cozy micropub with a great range of ales and ciders in top condition. I will be back on my next visit to Stafford.
Great micro-pub with a good selection of beer with friendly staff and punters
Sad display of management..family group went on a great hike in Staffordshire today as apart of our monthly camera ale write up review. Firstly was served with a sample ale before wanting to buy a full pint, Ale was nice but then up steps the manager and says you look too young let's see your I'd to two of the group both aged 30 plus..considering we was with parents 60 plus. Decided to just have a soft drink only to see the manager constantly staring at us and making us feel very uncomfortable...quick drink and moved straight on will not be visiting again...one member of our group hikes this regular and has been here before without issue...today was a bad experience. Respect your customers in future!!
Nice Micro pub with a great selection of Ales on Tap a good selection bottled Fruit wines ,Ciders, Beers. lovely atmosphere Great for conversation and has a good vibe/buzz in the Evening. Arrive early to get a Seat/table
Great little Ale house. Excellent selection of whiskies, Ale and Cider and a wonderfully Cosy atmosphere. Nice to see support for local arts events too. Watched 'Withnail and I ' and a great little short called 'the world's longest pub crawl' as part of the matchbox film festival. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Visited the Floodgate Ale Bar on Friday 20 July 2018 for a drink in this Good Beer Guide pub. The bar is easily missed as it only has a small frontage in a row of similar sized retail units. The front also has an awning covering the upper part of the window making it even more difficult to spot. The bar is a friendly small drinking establishment with five handpulls real ales on offer. The beers are listed on a large blackboard on the wall opposite the main bar. We sampled a nice drink of Church End Porter sold at an excellent price of £3.20 per pint. There is limited normal seating at low tables with further high stool seating alongside the right hand side of the bar and at the front of the bar.
Great micropub with 5 ever changing ales and one of them is always a dark beer. Good range of cider and whisky as well. Best pub on Stafford.
This is such a diamond of a micro pub, landlord, staff and all the regulars are super friendly. 5 taps of real all, all different styles and all rotating so there is always something for every one. Occasional bands and now a record player that, when on, is just loud enough to provide a nice background noise while not getting in the way of conversations. If you were ever looking for a reason to visit Stafford, this is all that you need
Really cosy pub and lovely friendly staff. I don't drink alcohol and here they serve tea in a pot. My hubby says the beer is excellent.
Great micro pub. Well thought out range of constantly changing Real ales and cider's. Friendly owner and staff. Well worth a visit.
