Story

A small introduction to our establishment and the cuisine we are about to present to you:

Modern India is one of the most diverse countries in the world. It is made up of 25 states and 7 territories and its people use 18 different languages and practice 7 major religions. So you can imagine how complex our culinary is.

The type of Indian food found in the majority of Indian restaurants is based on a very successful menu formula, true original version of these restaurants were run by Panjabi in India where they served a mixture of Panjabi cuisine such as tandoori and mughal dishes, korma and biryani. As the popularity grew the menu was established then replicated in new restaurants (hence most Indian restaurants have a very similar menu), although there is a vast amount of dishes on these menus, they represent a tiny section of Indian cuisine.

We want to bring more to this menu not by adding more dishes but using different combination of spices from different areas such as Goa, Rajestan, Bengal and Kashmir bringing originality to every dish. To start off this was a very expensive process not due to the fact that we stock a huge amount of herbs and spices but we needed to work with chefs from different backgrounds with different knowledge and experience. Today we would whole-heartedly like to say this has been a very successful process, Village Indiya has become a very popular restaurant, thanks to all our customers who have shared in this experience.

Had two friends from out of town coming to visit, and they love their Indian food. They have eaten in restaurants up and down the country so wasn't going to book just anywhere. I read the great reviews of village Indiya and booked for 8 o clock Saturday. I was surprised how small the place was and how busy. Every table was occupied with a narrow gangway down the centre with waiters rushing back and forth. We were seated in a small waiting area along with several people collecting take away and were offered drinks. As we drank our Cobra's more and more people came through the door with bookings until the waiting area was packed with more waiting outside. After 35 minutes of this I was beginning the think I had made a mistake when a table of four donned their coats and departed. The table was quickly cleaned and set and we were seated. The service was fast and efficient with poppadoms and dip's arriving in minutes. The menu had a few additions to the usual offerings and the waiters were happy to answer our questions. We went straight to mains choosing Tandoori mixed grill, chicken Jalfrezi, lamb Madras, pilau rice, onion bhaji and peshwari naan. The food was excellent, portion size good and polished off enthusiastically by the three of us. We all agreed it was the best Indian meal we have had and has reset the bar for Indian food. I must also give a mention to the girls behind the bar who were terrific

First time going since the fabulous Valentine's Day meal i had there recently, & let me tell you, it did not disappoint!!!Fabulous food, attentive staff. The best indian restaurant I've ever eaten in...& I'm very hard to please!!

Wowwwww. Where do I start!  We are new to the area, and this restaurant is First Class Staff = 100% Ambience = 100% Location = 100% FOOD = 10000% Everything was tasty. Lamb Korma was tender.  All food was hot and delicious. They even gave us a free Birthday cake and candle for my Partner's birthday.  We will definitely be back again very soon. Loved it :

Service shocking. As soon as we came in, we were not welcomed straight away. Their phone rang and waiter answered it while we were standing there which was rude. Finally seated, our waiter didn't have good listening skills and we had to repeat a few times what we wanted. Overall food was good, not the best Indian food, so shocked how it's award winning. Carpet wasn't clean either and wouldn't go back.

1 of thee best Indian restaurants ever. Staff are phenomenal especially Kayzer Friendly and quick food. Food is so lush!!  If your lucky you might even get a cheeky comp drink. I will 1000% recommend this place.  Parking: Number of free parking spots

Normally a brilliant service and food. However today 11th Feb we made an order for a takeaway and was told it would take half an hour. We got there on time and waited a further 45 minutes. When we got it home some of the order was wrong. Rang them and went back to collect it. There were 5 people waiting outside the restaurant for their orders and all were angry about the slow service. Order was now correct but cold. Don't know what's going on with your restaurant. Very disappointing!

Best food quality by far ! Always first class , never been let down ,wether it’s a take away or sit in ,really is the best we’ve ever been to , great staff always very attentive well done village India people

Absolutely brilliant food was welcomed in as soon as we got through the door excellent service throughout the whole of the meal down to when we was leaving we was given hot wipes to clean our hands I never once see any of the workers stand still they was always on the go and never disappointed would defiantly recommend to anyone who wants a great meal out or takeaway
