Had a lovely time there. Henry Owens a worker at the facilities was amazing and very helpful. He guided me and my wife around the place, helping use out and showing us things and was very professional, but also very friendly as well. Great customer service. And a great place to go for a gym session and hotel stay.Service: 5/5
I've stayed here twice and each time I have had a fairly good experience! Upon checking in the staff were very friendly but there are self-check in machines which is handy if it is busy. There is a Starbucks in the lobby as well which is a nice addition. The rooms are smaller than other rooms I've stayed in, but it's not too bad. There are USBs on each side of the bed, but there is a lack of actual plug sockets. The room had air conditioning but also a Dyson fan which you can use for heating. The bathroom has smart glass, which you press a button to make opaque. The problem I found with this is that the door doesn't go opaque, so if you're walking past you can still see in and hear everything. I would've preferred a wall. It was also quite noisy with motorbikes going past for most of the night, and the people around me were quite loud as well slamming doors etc. The pool is great, which has a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. You have to walk down some stairs to get from the changing rooms to the pool which was strange. The changing room was busy from people from the gym as well. Breakfast was pretty good, there is a good selection of continental/cooked breakfast with a coffee machine as well.
We have stayed at this hotel before as we have family nearby. Rooms are perfectly appointed with big comfy bed we were in the club rooms. In arrival we were greeted by Charlotte at reception, who helped us check in and dealt with some alterations to our booking. She was really friendly and super efficient, to get us on our way to our rooms with minimal fuss.
Rooms are small, with a corporate feel but have all you could need. Service is excellent and nothing is too much trouble for staff. Gym, pool, jacuzzi and sauna all adequate. Pool might be too small for some. Nearby fitness trail and co op for the essentials. Starbucks, bar and grill onside. Onside parking. To visit beaches you will need to travel by car or bus.
Very comfortable and really convenient if you are getting the ferry. Room was quiet and the restaurant was good. Didn't try the gym etc because our stay was rather short, however they seemed popular with both residents and locals. Rooms: Had a super king size bed which did leave limited floor space but for a short stay this was fine. Room had usual amenities and was clean and comfortable. One slightly odd thing was there was glass wall separating bathroom and main room. Glass had frosting/privacy setting ... which could be turned on and off .... so you could watch TV while in the shower??
Booked very late but glad we did. A really nice hotel. The bar and restaurant were great and the rooms were well thought out. Tesco about £15 into Portsmouth but the train station is close by as well. Would recommend!Rooms: 5/5
The location is the major reason I only gave this hotel four stars—it is not too close to the town centre or the coastline. Still, the hotel and service are excellent altogether. The reception area has a self-check machine that is simple to operate and allows you to make the keys yourself. Additionally, the room is nice—it's neither too big nor too little. The bathroom has a shower and is very large with all glass and transparent materials. If you would like some privacy for yourself, there is a touch button. I find the room arrangement to be really impressive. Normally, I find it tough to regulate the room temperature, but they have a Dyson fan, which is quite convenient and well-thought-out. If you reserve a room with them, you can use the spa, sauna, and jacuzzi for free. You have a Starbucks on site.Given that it is worth the money, I would recommend to others.
The room itself is lovely, clean and modern and I loved the glass bathroom set up, although you can hear everything when someone is on the loo. Biggest complaint, and its a big one, is the noise. It's not from people in other rooms but the from the gym, work classes constantly banging out base tunes so it feels like you are staying in night club toilets. We were told this all finished at 10pm. It did but was then followed up by music and banging from the bar. We were on the third floor into the early hours, so if you stay here and want a quiet relaxing stay, ask for top floor. I didn't sleep a wink, worst ever night for noise in a hotel, even more so than a capital city break where you like the atmos. When we told staff they acted like we were making it up as we were on a higher floor and still heard it, which doesn't happen. No apologies we felt like we were just causing an issue and making it up, thanks for that. Ironically I would stay again as the hotel and room was nice but I would only ever insist on top floor. I felt like it's really a club 18-30 place.
Short break to visit family in the area led us to book a promotional weekend break here . Rooms are clean and comfortable, similar in style to other Village hotels we've stayed at. The only thing I didn't like was glass partition between bedroom and shower/toilet . Room serviced every day and staff pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately a voucher we were sent for money off dining didn't work and I think meals are expensive for the quality on offer at full price
First class experience from the moment you walk in and are greeted by the fabulous Charlotte on reception, to the moment you leave and pick up the best Starbucks in town from Kat, Tasha and team. Wouldn’t recommend anywhere else not only due to the great quality, service and experience, but down to how all employees go the extra mile. Highly recommend and extremely great value for money also!
