Victoria Quarter is spectacular redevelopment of the meat market slum area in 1898-1904. You find many shop there.
Would not look out of place in Milan This ornate shopping centre has cafes, shops and toilets.
Stunning. The architecture makes you want to pull out your wallet, if you have one, and just start make a good use of it.
According to the blurb, the 'Victoria Quarter' is 'the Knightsbridge of the North'.....which sounds pretty impressive but assumes you have been to knightsbridge. Personally, I would forget comparisions or boasts about 'premium' shopping, just go and gaze at the fantastic architecture. Built around the 1900's it is an amazing example of overblown baroque victoriana........everthing is so over the top in a heavy cast iron & marble sort of way. I did find it a bit awe inspiring....and that's before checking the prices. We were there on a damp Tuesday and as it was quiet it had a cathedral feel about it. And don't just look up. The mosaic floor impress...actually even the drain coves are a work of art. The shopping is superb but the real stars are the buildings. Each of the Arcades is different and it is well worth checking them all. As per usual we did not have a huge amount of time and many of the surrounding buildings are very interesting. There is parking right in the centre of the city but we used the park and ride from Ellen Rd, very reasonable just pay for the bus and swift.....and helpful staff too. The whole area is pretty accessible but some of the walkway are narrow and I bet it gets crowded at peak times. The whole area is a credit to those who bult them and to those who restored them after they fell into disrepair. Brilliant...and I don't even like shopping!
It's like a branded shopping mall. Not really high end, but some branded stuffs are there. If you are looking for food, try Zaap - Thailand food. They food is veryyy good
I love to visit some of my favourite shops at Victoria Quarter Shopping Centre, such as Vivienne Westwood, Coach, Kheils, and Harvey Nichols. The aroma of Creed Aventus hits you as you walk into the shopping centre Classy feel.
I love the shops but sadly I don't have enough money to buy all of the pretty products. Window shopping is what we mostly do here. Beautiful building with original features
Really loved the architecture - the mix of the old and the new. The range of high-end brand stores is impressive. Enjoy the walk through this place eveytime.
Bought earrings from Vivien Westwood member of staff that served me was amazing so helpful and cheerful I commented on her pig knecklace as I love pigs she offered to.let me try on which I thought was very kind An amazing shop definitely recommend
