Ok museum and gallery. Nice building and has some good displays. Contains more art than artifacts. Also has a cafe in site on the ground floor. It is free entry too.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Beautiful Victorian building in the University Quarter with some jaw dropping architectural features. Crammed with art of all types - ceramics, paintings and sculpture to be found on lots of small rooms and passageways. Free entry. Superb!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I like visiting museums and historical places so since I was visiting Liverpool I had to drop by to see the artwork. To begin with, the building looks stunning! I found this museum interesting and the artwork was incredible. A lovely cozy café past the entrance and very helpful knowledgeable staff. Overall a nice place to visit in Liverpool.
Small museum, quite interesting. I really liked the engraving of silver on the dishes of the 19th-20th century, the incredible beauty of the work. There are various expositions, a meditation room - a bright room with visualization of the sky accompanied by calm sounds of nature, paintings, a rather cozy cafe.
Great exhibition titled "The Descendants," which features people of African descent - many of whom have roots in the city going back many generations. The oral testimonials on the big television screen were an added bonus. Listening to such individuals giving insight into their experiences and perceptions of racism demonstrates that racism continues in this city in covert and overt ways. Ray Costello is correct that the Windrush arrival does not mark the black presence on these shores as people of African descent have been in Britain since the Roman era.
Lovely little museum and gallery. The kids packs were a brilliant addition and perfect for 5-8 year olds. Nice cafe too.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Where is handicap/blue badge parking? Only parking full stop appears blocks away in a midrise carpark. Disappointed after driving 1.5hrs for 56th anniversary morning out and no accessibility.Visited onWeekday
This place really is a hidden gem in Liverpool, and I honestly encourage everyone to visit, if only for the beautiful Victorian architecture of the building itself, and the incredible glazed tiles that seem to cover just about every surface. The gallery is always fascinating, and exhibits seem to change quite regularly, with some really more leftfield displays, such as amazing anatomical looking papier mache flowers. The museum on the top floor is superb, sitting below the vaunted timber roof, an incredible space. The staff are lovely and helpful to a fault, and there's even a nice little coffee shop, so one can sit and appreciate the architecture with a coffee and a cake.
Beautiful building .. excellent venue fir superb "academic" Christmas fantasy speculation on how Father Christmas can be in so many places at almost the same time. The "explanation" seems to become more grounded than flying as the years go by! Well done Professor Peter et al.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
