Lovely place to eat. We had steak and ale pie and Shanklin pie. Both beautifully cooked. Went for a walk then came back for 2x scones to take-away. Very friendly staff. Good location.

Having just arrived in the area for the first time. Our family of two adults and two kids found this very interesting restaurant. It feels more like your local pub, but with a good mix of class and style which is unique and comforting. I enjoyed the banter, the noise, and the atmosphere very much. The owner(s) and staff are so friendly, and helpful. We felt this place is the heart and soul of the community. Plus very family friendly. We hope to come back again if we ever visit the Isle of Wight in the future. The food is very tasty! The portions are huge! I would highly recommend the Vernon burger! The veggie sauce is awesome!

So sweet! Can't believe it took 2 years for me to finally go inside. From all the signs on the outside, I thought it might be too touristy or twee but actually, when you go in, the hedges cover all that up and you're secluded in a very sweet and charming tea room / fairie garden. Try a gin with a rose lemonade! Bliss! Xx

Gorgeous setting in the old village area of Shanklin. Great food and service. My wife ordered the steak and the chef came outside to our table to say he had cooked the steak but wasn't happy with how it looked so he cooked another from scratch. Then he proceeded to serve us both the steaks! Fabulous service!
