Old Thatch Teashop is the only place to visit in Shanklin, they know how to get it completely right. Customer Service - Excellent Decoration - Excellent Fairy Garden - Excellent Food - not only Excellent but Supurb Originality - Excellent Owner - She is Excellent and puts her heart and soul into her Teashop. We have visited several times now and we always something new and unique in this gorgeous place. We recommend it to everyone, try it and see for yourself.

Before now we've always gone to eat at Pencil Cottage, but this year the staff at Pencil Cottage were extremely rude to my Mum and I just because we are allergic to dairy. We walked out and went next door to the Old Thatch Teashop instead, and asked the friendly owner if she could help us with anything dairy free. She pointed to the cake cabinet to our left and said that all her cakes are gluten and dairy free, plus other food could be adjusted for our diet if we needed it. The cake was absolutely gorgeous (so light you wouldn't know it was gluten free) and it was hard to choose which flavour to try! We returned later in the week for my parents to have the Victorian Afternoon Tea for Two as an anniversary treat, the meal was adjusted so that there was no butter on the sandwiches, etc. The staff were also very friendly, we sat outside to start with and the waitress assured us that if we got too cold just to come inside and she would find us some other seating with no problem. The whole place is a warm and friendly atmosphere and we look forward to visiting again on our next visit. No more Pencil Cottage for us! 😄

The food was good the staff was nice the drinks were good and I loved the area and garden around it
