VENEZIA Exeter is an established Italian/Mediterranean Restaurant with a Salsa Club and a Shesha Cafe right on the Quay of Exeter.

Story

From the moment you walk into Venezia you cannot fail but to be impressed by the individual Mediterranean ambience and the historical, unique location situated on the famous quayside beside the beautiful river Exe.

During the day, sit beside the river and take time out to enjoy a delicious cappuccino and freshly made gateau. In the evening, Venezia is transformed into an intimate experience and affording romantic views across the river. Enhanced by the regular dance classes and club nights for Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Kizomba, it is unquestionably the place to visit, not only for the special occasion, but also for an inexpensive night out.

The extensive menu offers the very best in Italian cuisine, including a tremendous selection of succulent fish, vegetarian, meat and pasta dishes, or the classic pizza. For something different, why not choose from the specials of the day blackboard, and compliment your meal with wine from the extensive selected wine list.

Fantastic experience! I just ordered a spaghetti bologonese as I wanted a quick dinner, stumbled here exploring the Quay. The food was excellent and tasted very fresh, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I even had some card issues - they were very patient and helpful to get it sorted. Highly recommend a stop!Food: 5/5
We had a larger group turn up and order food; the Server who was looking after us was fantastic! She was constantly checking if we needed anything, took our group picture etc. Best service I've received in recent times.Food: 5/5
We only ordered the pizzas and they were delicious! Love the pizza base very light and fluffy. Service was great and quick and the view was lovey too. Right by the river with a great outdoor area. Nice to sit here in the summer!Food: 5/5
Re: Wow! No body will be serious and angry for just 1.5pound, that is funny. We did order 3 scoops in one time, but should pay for 7.5? It was OK if your Mathematics is not good enough. That will pay for your education.But could you please tell me why the manager gives us a disdainful look and said “don't look at him, you must pay now”when I looked at my friend? And even the manager said that don't come next time? Are you so unreasonable to all your customers or just for us people? Or the Restaurant have the rule that not allow the customer to have eye contacts with each other? The worst service restaurant and the rudest person I have ever had. I bought 3 scoops ice cream in total, but they charged me wrongly, the price board was hind by a kitchen roll so I don’t know the correct price at first. When I raised my request, the manager was so rude to talk with me, and haven’t explained why, he insisted to ask me to pay the wrong price. And he asked us to never come back to his place. I have reason to doubt that the manager here is a racist.
went to celebrate my birthday a few days ago. The view was good if you sat by the window. we booked a table for us as a family of 4, it was too small and we moved to another table two tables together. Waited for half an hour after we ordered our food, guess it was busy that day. Waiting for half an hour was not fun but the food was good. My kids loved the 16-inch pizza. However, my steak was so so I will give it 2 stars but the chips were good, i will give it 4 stars. A gentle reminder, if you ask the staff to take pictures for you, make sure you check the pictures after they were taken. Mine were all blurry, oh my birthday dinner pictures.... My fault after all
Had such a lovely evening, service was great and the food was really good. I had the sea bass which was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be going back. Thank you for such a lovely evening.Food: 5/5
Online they say they have a wheelchair accessible toilet. I contacted the venue in advance to double check that this information was correct, and was assured that it was. I asked where the accessible bathroom was on entering and was assured the bathroom was accessible even then. However the toilets are NOT wheelchair accessible. They are ordinary bathroom stalls with a grab rail. It is not possible to get a wheelchair into the cubical, to get a wheelchair to the sink, or to turn a chair around in the bathroom. Bare in mind I am in a manual chair, so a powerchair would have no chance. Providing incorrect access information is not really on I am afraid, especially when I made several efforts to double check. And being able to wee in a food and drinks venue is a must for anyone. Wheelchair accessibility: Despite what is advertised the toilets are NOT wheelchair accessible. They are ordinary bathroom stalls with a grab rail. It is not possible to get a manual wheelchair into the cubical, to get a wheelchair to the sink, or to turn a chair around in the bathroom.
We came to Exeter last weekend to see some friends and had an absolute pleasure having some food and drinks here. Medhat, the owner was very kind and efficient, and it was great to be served by him during the evening. All the staff were really nice and the atmosphere was great. Prices were reasonable and I would recommend coming here if you’re in Exeter. Worth trying the Shesha as well they have lots of different flavours and it was budget friendly for us.
Great service, lovely food, fast service. The only thing let it down was the coffee, the cappuccinos milk was burnt and made it tasteless.. The food was so tasty tho, and the service with food was fast... Reasonable price for the location with great views over the canal. Missed out on tiramisu as it was all gone! Saved my waistline a couple of inches! Will definitely be back...
Star of the show were the chunky chips. Nice and fluffy with beautiful crispy outside. Ribs weren't a standout but very tasty nonetheless and really nice chicken tenders. The waitress was top draw, very polite and welcoming. Although she was just glad of customers on a quiet Monday evening! Decent amount of choice on the menu so we'll worth a visit.
