A lovely evening out to celebrate my grandaughters 5th birthday, the location is excellent and we were given a wonderful seat overlooking the cathedral green. The food was pitched just right and she enjoyed every mouthful. The candle and singing greatly appreciated. But the our waiter was just excellent, we were remarking that the service recieved at the Ivy only last week was brilliant and this young man matched it.
What a great experience. Lovely location and interior, great staff and quick service. Manager Wendy was particularly helpful. Also had a chance to meet Jane, head of food and beverage for Pizza Express, and was impressed how she took the time to ask about our experience. Gabi the waitress was also attentive and kind. 10/10Food: 5/5
Went for a nice meal with friends. Got a lovely seat with a view of the cathedral. Food was amazing. Service was probably the best out of our whole experience. Oscar who was our waiter was honestly amazing. He got us on the app which got us free dough balls. He was very attentive and friendly. I definitely will be going back with high expectations! Dietary restrictions: My friend is coeliac and she said the gluten free pizza was the best she’s had
No clue what Dakota was on about, 10/10 service from the staff. Jenny, Wendy and Ollie were extremely attentive and made us feel very welcomed. Jenny provided menu recommendations whilst Wendy and Ollie made us feel very accommodated with their banter. Food arrived hot and was very tasty. Thank you for having us! Will definitely come again!
We enjoyed the food which was a little pricey considering the portion size; £16 something for a fairly small calzone. I've had better and twice the size for the same or less cost DELIVERED so I was surprised at the portion size when it arrived. It was nice, mind you and the staff were great. Will probably go again just might have a pizza instead of the calzone.
We went for our daughter’s 3rd birthday and our waiter Matt was amazing. He was extremely professional and nothing was too much of an ask for him. He made the evening so lovely for all of us. Thank you Matt. We love all the new starters and think it’s the best calamari in town!Food: 5/5
We spent a lovely Fathers Day lunch here yesterday. The food was perfect, possibly the best pizza we have ever tasted and that is no exaggeration believe me, but the thing that is most outstanding is the amazing level of service which is a simply outstanding. This is the place that other restaurants should send their staff to for training. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is too much trouble for these lovely people. Very child friendly even though we did have a crying baby who began teething during our family visit and our two grand daughters with us. We will definitely be returning our lunch or dinner soon. We cannot recommend Pizza Express at the Cathedral enough so please pay a visit and see for yourselves just how amazing it is.
We arrived at 2pm on a Thursday. They were at half capacity and the Service was painfully slow. The food was slow in coming out of the kitchen, the staff was friendly when they were serving us, but we were sat for 15 mins even before we were asked for our drinks order. The couple had finished their full meal before our starters came. We don’t often feel like leaving a place before our food arrives, but I could see other people losing patience waiting for the food to arrive. The ONLY saving grace was the apology from the waitress and her friendly manner. The food was tasty and came out hot, the pizza toppings were thrown on and didn’t seem to have much attention to detail. Possibly they were very understaffed in the kitchen. We love Pizza Express but won’t be returning there.
Excellent service . I couldn’t recommend it more. My partner is pregnant and was wondering if the food was pasteurised, Wendy took her time to go through the menu to point out which food she could and couldn’t have . Gabby the waiter really looks after us . Service was very fast and food was really good. We’re were really happy with the service and would definitely recommend
I have been coming to this pizza express for over 10 years. Wendy the manager has and always is so attentive chatty and welcoming!! She used to give my son some dough to play with to keep him entertained he loved it. The service is on point, always a good atmosphere all the staff work so hard. The chefs are constantly on the go and its fun to see you pizza being made. The staff are always helpfull and up to date with deals and offers. Tonight Oscar served us ge was fab gave good recommendations we ordered and was great well done team!! Keep up the good work xx
