I run a start up business which changed a building fro ma shop to a gym yet the people here fail to understand that I have legally (with proof) changed the building from retail to a gym, so I keep getting charged higher business rates than I should be. As a fact all D2 buildings get charged less per sq/ft than retail all over the UK yet mine haven't been changed and the time it's taking would make me close down due to the extortionate value of them. Just s**t UPDATE: So after their new check, challenge, appeal process, my challenge was rejected and I was told to appeal. I refuse to appeal as the tribunal isn't held by a 3rd party but by the valuation office which is just a sow up. Their reasoning is in line with how the government value business rates, based on property value not individual businesses and needs. It's shambolic and I wont be surprised in a few years if the whole high street is just big UK and USA based chains and all the independents that provide high quality variety are gone..

most unhelpful load of recordings which pass you on up a dead end then disconnect you. The worst system I have ever experienced. A disgrace.
