I had an appointment here this week. When I arrived inside the place I noticed it was not busy at all as there was only a few people waiting to be seen. The atmosphere was quiet, calm and relaxed. It was also very warm in terms of the heat. I was asked to fill out a form, handed it back and then waited to be seen. The receptionist was polite and professional. I was seen by one of the nurses whom was very polite, professional and understanding. Afterwards, I looked to where the toilets were and then security directed me to them which was on the ground floor. In terms of the waiting time I did not wait that long, which was good. I did ask the nurse if travel fare can be reimbursed but decided not to ask the receptionist as I was too anxious and embarrassed to ask again due to my anxiety.
I've been interviewed twice here for my ESA assessment and both times I've been very impressed with both the reception staff and the young women who interviewed me. Despite being extremely busy, the people on reception were efficient and friendly, and both my interviewers were kind and well educated. How different it was from my first Atos 'interview' in Neasden in 2011 in which a young guy who, although friendly, just asked me a bunch of loaded questions about what I could physically do and the minutiae of my day and then took no notice of what I said about my experience of having depression and anxiety. These women fully listened to and understood me and felt like they were on my side much more. I still had to endure the laborious questions but at least I felt I'd been really heard. I filled in my travel expenses form before the interview and handed it to reception and they didn't even want my ticket as proof. I got my refund within a couple of weeks.
I had an appointment on the ground floor of the centre01/11/2017. I was very shaky when I arrived, and in need of a toilet. I had difficulty even holding a pen, let alone filling in a form. The person on the desk offered to fill it in for me after asking me for proof of identity, and pointed me to the ground floor, disabled toilet. I was still in the toilet when my name was called, but the assessor came out and called me again, not at all irritated by my having been in the toilet the first time they'd called me. The staff I saw, including the security person, were polite, responded to my politeness in kind. I'm writing this not because I'm pro these assessment, nor because I don't belive the reviews of others, but, because when I searched for info about this centre, the info that was available caused me to worry unnecessary as it turned out. The only time the security person made any move, was when a women tried to use my walking stick to hit her rather exuberant child, and he move to prevent her from doing so. I would recommend paying for a taxi, to and from the assessment centre, if you have mobility problems, the journey on the underground or bus would certainly have been beyond me. It is a depressing place to visit and, dare I say, work in, but if one is polite and reasonable, then the staff will more than likely be so too even if the previous person the spoke to was rude. I hope this review helps someone else heading for an assessment on the ground floor here.
Be aware of them ask for recording assessment they are bunch of Liars and my advice to you ask your GP for Health report because they won't check your record. Take someone with you and don't be shy act like you are having the worst day. And don't do any movements that will cause you are a pain worse because if you do the movements, they will write you are functioning normally. Be clear when they ask you for movements. Say it in a loud voice so it can be recorded that you can't do this movement because you will have pain.
The receptionists at Marylebone Assessment Centre are the rudest people I have ever met/spoken to. How they manage to get away with it I don't know Most arrogant and rude very noisy receptionist ever. I can say that I met the most arrogant, and rude receptionist ever! Because instead of 1.45 I was there 1:00 the most unfriendly, and arrogant behaviour I have ever experienced by a Receptionist!
Outright liars or incompetants. The assessor Samantha with tattoos all over her arms lied or misrepresented five key aspects of my claim. Says my prostate cancer " no further action intended"... oh yeah well tell that to the surgeon in 17th December who will be doing a radical prostatectomy..with a six month nladder bag recovery..No mental health.. what about 3.5 hours on an 11th story ledge suicide attempt.. caused by never-ending pain. NOT EVEN MENTIONED IN HER fybro.myalgia REPORT..Dear God.. get rid of these people!!! PLEASE GOD stop these people..please..find a different way ...DWP
It is a shame , they gave appointment 8:50 and asking to be 20 min early before at centre , so when we get to centre saw 20 people same time at the place all booked for 8:50 . One lady staff at reception just saying we start at 9.00 and I am doing favour that start my job earlier because of you people , and she kept complaining about management and short staff and other things instead of concentrate on her job and talk to people like people are sheeps and she is the sheperd
Incompetent Lazy staff &could not understand the interviewers thick Foreign accent . Woman sitting waiting with tubes in her nose Holding a pack keeping her alive sitting in a wheelchair . left waiting shame on this place . Disgusting
To be honest I wasn't looking forward to coming here after seeing the reviews Had to wait 30 minutes extra today but on seeing Chris the back specialist at midday made it worthwhile Really nice guy Thank you
Phoned them to enquire about my phone assessment, and the man that answered the call was so obnoxious, I understand services are a bit stretched during this time, but still a bit of curtesy goes a long way.
