THE WORT COUNCIL SERVICE IN THE COUNTRY!!! I have been living here for many years , the council services sucks big time! no help , unprofessional people running the services. the only thing they are good at is over charging you for council tax and sending you bills none stop. whenever I have contacted the housing service I have been spoken to in a disgusting manner, unresolved issues, and put on hold for hours. They are always miscalculating rent or council tax and then chase you for money when its their fault making mistakes and you have to pay for their mistake .I have been harassed with none stop sent warning letters, telling me that they will come and take things from my house when i wasn't even suppose to pay for their miscalculating my council tax. I have had anxiety and panic attacks because of them. I am a single mother working part time they made my life hell! The repair department is another nightmare! we had a drain blockage in the snowy days I called for emergency appointment they apparently don't repair anything as an emergency unless it is causing damage to property. I had to wait 2 weeks without using my sink and washing machine, as I have kids i spent £60 washing our cloths outside until they fixed it. repair appointments are always so long to wait. there are so many bad thing about this council I wish i could write what i have been through with these council. I know they will never sort out these problems we just have to deal with it. SHAME ON YOU!

Islington Council repairs work is absolutely rubbish. There’s no good system for make a appointment and staff is not complete their job properly. We write here , i know they ignore people.

This Council has been the WORST nightmare ever. I have been repeatedly issued council tax bills, which were to be paid by tenants who had already left. I have been given 6 different account numbers, which made it extremely difficult to pay for my bills. Each time I payed bills (including those that weren't to be payed by me), they were the wrong ones. Moreover, after having spent 1200 hours on the phone with people you feel just woke up from a nap and have no clue about what their duties are, you receive ANOTHER LETTER, WITH ANOTHER ACCOUNT REFERENCE TELLING YOU THAT YOU HAVEN'T PAYED!!! And you think this won't apply to students.... BUT no! Even if you provide them with a valid student certificate, they will still issue bills over bills over bills on which you appear associated with different , never-seen-before account numbers! They also like it very much to mix and match the tenants of the house so that your name is often paired with another name, usually belonging to a tenant who left 3-4 months ago. Because tax bureaucracy wasn't complicated enough, Islington Council needs to spice up its game...

It is difficult to get hold of most departments in the council. The licensing team are take little action. Planning are excessively bureaucratic and whilst it is appropriate to limit permission in listed properties the council will then approve the building of the most hideous designs in areas of historic value. For example the properties on Liverpool Road between Barnsbury Street and Gibson square are hideous and totally out of keeping of the area. Finally, refuse services are terrible. After the collection lorries come, refuse is scattered across the street. On a plus, the staff who interact with the public try to be helpful and polite, but the council is badly managed.

If one brings photo id proof of address purchases invoice of the vehicle and wants to swap the resident parking permit then it should be able to. But not in islington u only get temp one and then have to come back with more documentation to prove ur residence. Ridiculous
