We had the most incredible stay at Tulloch Castle Hotel 'A Bespoke Hotel', and our entire family loved not only the castle itself but even more so, the amazing people we met there. We stayed in the Mackenzie Suite apartment, which provided plenty of space for the family to relax and feel completely at home. The charm of the castle, combined with the warmth of the staff, made our stay unforgettable.nFirst and foremost, we have to mention Laura, who worked at the front desk in the evenings. She truly made our stay special. Every night, she greeted us with a big smile, and took the time to chat with both my husband and me, as well as our boys. Our kids asked about Laura every night, and she became a highlight of our stay. We’ve made a lifelong friend in Laura, and she added a personal touch that we’ll always cherish.nStephen, who served us in the Green Lady pub, was wonderful as well. He was incredibly patient with the kids, joked around with us, and made us feel so at home night after night. He made our dining experience something we looked forward to.nWe also have to give a huge shoutout to the breakfast staff, Trevor and Saiyud, who made our mornings so enjoyable. They were so friendly and patient with the kids, always chatting with them and keeping things fun. And we can’t forget to mention the delicious pancakes!nFinally, a special mention to “wee” Hector, the adorable puppy, and his mom, Arleen. Our kids absolutely adored playing with Hector while we caught up with Arleen about our day.nOverall, we give our stay a 10 out of 10. We’re already planning our next trip to the castle for a longer stay next year. Thank you, Tulloch Castle Hotel, for making our family vacation so memorable!
Nice hotel in old castle style. The castle has a long history since the middle of the 16th century. Friendly, young staff. Rooms large and clean, nice Bathroom. Many steps without elevator. Good food in the hotel's own restaurant. It also has its own bar with outdoor seating. Deductions for the somewhat outdated sanitary facilities. Service is nice and helpful - but there is still room for improvement
Lovely hotel and communal areas and seems harsh to rate 2 stars but can only go off our experience here.nnChildren no older than 12 staying in a hotel room next to us without parents who presumably were situated down the corridor, constant noise, running up and down the corridor, slamming doors, banging and shouting from 10:30pm to 1am. Eventually got in touch with reception on the 4th phone call and after actually going down but nobody was there, staff knocked and told them to quieten down but continued for another 30 minutes after.nnAppreciate this is an older building and there will be some noise from other guests but this was ridiculous, we know it's third party behaviour and not exactly hotels fault but kids shouldn't be in a room on there own and god knows where parents were.
We went out for dinner last night. What can l say.... would not eat here again!! Restaurant food, salad came dried out on starter, salmon mouse bland. Venison was tasteless, sauce conjealed obviously sat under light too long. Fondant potato and veg way over cooked and chocolate sauce just required chocolate near it. Cheese board chucked on a slate, no butter, chutney 3 dry oatcakes and a bunch of grapes. Whole meal was a total let down. On the upside waiting staff were lovely.
A nice location, friendly staff. Unfortunately the general state of the building is poor, except for the rooms which are kept nice iI guess.nnUnfortunately the fire doors are a hazard for childrens fingers in themselves and our little one got away with minor bruises to her finger.nnThe food in the restaurants is okay, but for vegetarians there are not many choices.nnThe breakfast is , very nice.nnAll in all a mixed experience, but positive memories were made.
