Story

Kincraig Castle Hotel is a deeply romantic 4 star hotel overlooking the Cromarty Firth, just outside of Inverness and close to Tain and Dornoch. From the moment you arrive you cannot fail to appreciate the Highland setting of this hotel, which was once the family home of the Mackenzie clan.

Bedrooms at Kincraig Castle Hotel offer comforting tradition and have been luxuriously refurbished with carefully chosen fabrics and furniture, whilst preserving the hotel's heritage which dates back to 1813. Guests can congregate within warm wood panelling as fires crackle throughout the hotel under ornate ceilings.

Stayed here recently with my fiance and I was very impressed. We stay relatively local to the hotel but have never been inside. Very beautiful outside and in lovely gardens. Ray at the reception desk was beyond welcoming and carried our bags to our room. Our room was absolutely beautiful with stunning views across the firth. Everything was spotless and there was even a proper coffee machine in the room which I thought was a very considerate touch. We decided to go down to the lobby and have a glass of wine in 2 lovely comfortable chairs in front of a roaring fire. After we went into the snug for some fish and chips which were lovely. The barman was hilarious and extremely accommodating. All the staff at this beautiful hotel were lovely and really made us feel welcome. We will absolutely be back.

We were nicely treated which counts for a lot these days. The coffee was cold but the nook near the fireplace was a lovely place to sit and drink the cold coffee. I haven't eaten here but did look at the menu and it's not cheap. Surprisingly the price for the afternoon tea offering was reasonable. The building is interesting. Maybe worth another try.

Great food and comfortable accommodation. The staff are friendly and most welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Many thanks for making our weekend so enjoyable, it won't be long before we're back.
