The main door looks like the entrance to a YMCA doss-house and is poorly signed, so quite difficult to find. Don’t be put off; the staff are very friendly and eager to help. The rooms are fresh and clean. I slept like a log - considering the busy location it was surprisingly quiet. Breakfast isn't up to much for £9.99. Mattress protectors would be a good idea for the sake of best hygiene. For the price in London I was impressed.
I recently stayed in this hotel for a month. The location of the hotel is excellent for access to the shopping center and public transportation stations. The rooms are big enough. But the hotel does not have internet. Also, there are no normal mini-fridges here like in other hotels.But the hotel staff are hospitable and polite. Since my wife is sensitive to cleanliness, we regularly talked to the housekeeping of the hotel and had various requests, this lady named Inga patiently listened to us. She did her best for the best service. You can always see her respectful smile .
The staff were welcoming and friendly. We were greeted with hot chocolate and given information about our stay. The room had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. It is in a very central location and very noisy outside but our windows did a good job of minimising the noise. We used onside cafe bar for late night snacks which was reasonably priced and simple fare. A good choice of budget hotel if staying in Croydon or wishing to explore further afield. One final point. It is very handily placed for the station but both entrances are a little hard to find/easy to walk passed so worth checking maps first!
Check it out for yourself - 100% great service here First of all, I would like to commend every single member of staff I have come across since Sunday 23/6. Kieron receptionist, Haroon security, Olufunmilayo receptionist are some of the excellent staff that I have come across and all have been extremely polite, welcoming, helpful, friendly and are all true ambassadors of Croydon Central Travelodge. The bedroom and bathroom were super clean and have all the basic requirements one would need. The bed is super comfy that I've really been struggling to get out of bed at times and didn't react to my daily alarm haha. The bedroom is always cool even though it's scorching outside. There is always hot water and the shower is exactly as one would expect it to be. The surrounding East Croydon area is very quiet at night so you are assured a very peaceful night's rest even with the windows open. I normally work from home and am here on a business/family stay and nobody has disturbed me which is great. There is some ongoing construction work in the day which you can only hear if the windows are open but this is very normal for a busy area and it is no fault of this Travelodge branch. The only negative feedback is that the outside windows of the hotel need cleaning. I am still in this hotel till Saturday 29/6 but wanted to leave this 5-star feedback for the team here now as I am really truly impressed with the service so far here. Thanks all. Room 915. Walkability: Excellent public transport nearby a tram stop is less than a minute's walk from the front entrance to the hotel, East Croydon train station is 5 to 8 minutes walking distance depending on your pace, a bus stop is less than 3 minutes away. There is a decent open space and barrierless parking with CCTV about 2 minutes walk from the rear entrance called NCP Southern House with durations of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 24 hours ranging from £4.55 to £12.55 and payable on the NCP app which is brilliant.
Rude and very aggressive staff broke in to my room at midnight while I was asleep, using their master-key. Reception told me that they have a drug problem in the hotel and do this to check out innocent guests. As an OAP it was terrifying to be assaulted by their staff. Stay well away from this place.Rooms: 1/5
unfortunately we had a disappointing night on the part of the hotel, the room was not the same as the one we booked before... I asked for a double bed and it had two single beds pushed together without a table, the bathroom was not the same as in the photo, bad lighting in the room, windows, unfortunately, I won't be back. … the worst thing I asked the receptionist was, he apologized and said it was that room that was available at the time… anyway, I don't recommend it and I won't go back.
Absolutely shocking service and treatment by the staff. My wife was forcibly removed and physically assaulted as our stay was terminated after I was accused of calling an assistant manager an idiot. This occurred on 24 April 2024. As mentioned, my wife was verbally and physically assaulted by staff consisting of assistant managers. I was out and my wife was waiting for me to return as we had several bags of luggage. However the staff came and dragged my wife out of the room causing physical injury which has been documented. The incident was reported to the police and the matter is being investigated and hopefully, the staff will be arrested for assault. AVOID
The bathtub is clogged, I talked to the reception to have someone come and unclog the mess, but no one came. On the last night, they didn't even provide any toilet paper! It's a bit of a sketchy area!Rooms: 1/5
We were originally booked in at Crystal palace travelodge and were moved to Croydon last minute as they were refurbishing. Croyden was a lot farther away than they said, and we spent the whole of our stay travelling to the places we needed to be. The location left a lot to be desired and the area wasn't great. Rooms were shabby. However breakfast was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Surltan & Isaac were very accommodating, helpful and made the stay pleasant. Definitely deserve to be more than late night receptionist.Rooms: 5/5
