A Lovely and Welcoming StaynnWe stayed at the Holiday Inn from the 20th to the 21st August, checking out on Saturday, and had a very pleasant experience.nnThe front office team was extremely friendly. Waleed gave us such a warm welcome. They were very helpful and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Marina, in particular, kindly helped me take my food up to the room, which I really appreciated.nnThe room was very clean and comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We also loved that we could stay with our dog. It was great to find a hotel with such a welcoming and pet-friendly atmosphere.nnThank you to the whole team for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We would definitely be happy to stay again!
Hotel is a little out of the way and hard to find on first visit. Seems quite a busy area but room quiet in my 8th floor roomnBreakfast staff very welcoming and keep place clean. On my visit a lad called Raluka was very friendly and welcoming. Gives a great start to the day.nGood selection of breakfast buffet.nThanks.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, and all the staff members are friendly and welcoming. Special thanks go to Ben! We encountered unexpected issues with our room reservation, and he offered tremendous support by patiently coordinating and actively sorting everything out for us. He was thoughtful and attentive throughout the whole process and successfully resolved all our booking troubles. Great value for money, we will definitely choose this hotel again and highly recommend it to everyone!
I had a generally pleasant stay at this property.nnDespite the hotel itself being tucked down an alleyway, the interior accommodations are great and only slightly less being on par with a standard Holiday Inn. The room and bathroom were exceptionally spacious, clean, and well-provided with an iron, ironing board, and necessary toiletries.nnAs an IHG One Rewards Gold Elite member, I deeply appreciated the exceptionally warm welcome from the front desk agent during my early morning arrival. The £30 early check-in fee, which included breakfast, was reasonable and highly convenient. On my final day, another agent, Andrei, was equally helpful in seamlessly accommodating my member benefit for a one-hour late checkout.nnOn my third day, I requested a bedsheet change from housekeeping and politely reminded Waleed at the front desk. While the housekeeping team kindly fulfilled the request, Waleed chose to inform me in a rather defensive tone that this was 'not hotel policy.' Under IHG Holiday Inn Express's official Green sustainability policy, sheets are standardly refreshed every third day. If this specific branch has opted out of brand standards or if the corporate policy has recently changed, management should clarify this rather than allowing staff to address guests defensively.nnThe hotel is conveniently located a 7–10 minute walk from East Croydon station.nGuests should be aware that the walk to the station is quite littered, and the surrounding environment can feel a bit uncomfortable depending on the time of walk. In the early mornings and late evenings, there is loitering and there areindividuals exhibiting erratic behavior on the streets on the path to the station.
We had a wonderful stay. Naresh Manager at the front desk and the General Manager were incredibly kind and helpful in switching us to an accessible room for my mother, who uses a wheelchair. Their care and professionalism made a big difference.nnIf you need an accessible room, be sure your travel agent requests it in writing before you arrive. The standard room showers have a higher step, which may not be suitable for older guests or those with limited mobility.nnThank you for your excellent service!
