Very disappointing experience – serious housekeeping concernnnI stayed at the Leonardo Hotel London Croydon from 29 to 30 August. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward stay became a very concerning experience.nnAlthough the receptionist who checked us in was friendly and professional, we experienced a serious housekeeping and hygiene issue. Despite displaying a “Do Not Disturb” sign, housekeeping interrupted us while we were conducting a business meeting shortly after the stated check-out time.nnMore seriously, we subsequently discovered what appeared to be a soiled nappy containing human waste left in the room. We had already handled the towels before discovering this and both experienced itching afterwards. This has caused us significant concern, and one of us has since consulted a GP and been referred to a dermatologist for further assessment.nnWe have made a formal complaint to Leonardo Hotels and provided photographic evidence. We are currently awaiting the hotel’s response.nnThis experience has seriously affected our confidence in the hotel’s housekeeping and hygiene standards. Guests should be able to expect their room and towels to be clean and safe to use.nnI hope Leonardo Hotels takes this matter seriously and investigates what happened.
One of the only hotels in the vicinity of London that isn't outrageously expensive. The room and the breakfast was good - pretty standard big-chain hotel stuff. It had to be mentioned though that the staff was super friendly!nnBesides the price, the hotel is superbly placed within a few minutes of East Croydon train station, making it quick and easy to get to/from London and Gatwick airport. We started our vacation here and were super happy with it. We also took a day trip to Brighton, which is also super fast given that you're already halfway there from London.
Brooke truly made our stay unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and her kindness and attention to detail made a huge difference. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the thoughtful gestures she arranged for us were incredibly special, far beyond anything we expected.nBrooke is warm, genuine, and exceptionally professional. She didn’t just do her job; she created an experience that made us feel valued and cared for. She is a true credit to the hotel and a shining example of what local excellence in Croydon should look like.nBecause of Brooke, our stay wasn’t just comfortable it was memorable. She is an outstanding representative of the hotel, and we cannot thank her enough. We will absolutely be returning and recommending this place to others because of her.
I've stayed here dozens of times with work and it's always been fantastic.. so much so, I chose to stay when visiting London for my Birthday.nnIt's a 5 minute walk to a station which is 1 stop from Gatwick and around 15/20 minutes into the city, all for a fraction of the cost of city centre hotels. The staff are always welcoming and the facilities are good with a decent restaurant/bar.nI'd happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London.
The most important part of a hotel is a comfortable sleep. Sadly the pillows and beds are hard. Also the room was stuffy and the window doesn't open plus the aircon didn't work properly. This is the 2nd Leonardo Hotel with the same issues, I will avoid them in future.nBreakfast was overcrowded and not worth the price. Food runs out too fast, the space is too tight. Ingredients are poor quality.nThe location is fine, but really just convenient, the area is not nice sadly.nStaff loudly discussing personal issues outside the front door and swearing. Yes it was with a fellow team member, but shouldn't happen directly outside the door where guests are. This is unprofessional.nFront desk staff are friendly.
