If you are a sci-fi or fantasy nerd this bookshop is absolutely heaven. There isn’t much space but the quality of books stocked here is unparalleled and it’s clear that it’s been very carefully and thoughtful curated. I bought two books here about Scottish folklore and the local dog hero Bobby Greyfriars.
Great shop, good selection. Very friendly owner, very knowledgeable. After giving him a names of authors I like, he recommended me an excellent book I wouldn't have bought, but perfectly fits my taste.
Absolutely brilliant wee bookshop. I've been a few times since I discovered it and it will be my first port of call whenever I need sci-fi and fantasy fiction from now on! Very knowledgeable and approachable owner who is on hand to assist in whatever way they can. Sourced me a version of a book more to my tasted and got it ordered in no problems with a really great pricetag too. Shop Local!
What a lovely book store! I like to buy a book in every country I travel to, because I collect books from where I travel. I bought here a really nice Scottish legends book. I also spent at least an hour in the store watching around and the owner was really kind, he did not bother me at all, he let me just look around peacefuly.
I was very happy to find this little gem of a bookshop in central Edinburgh! The collection is dedicated to science fiction and fantasy titles. Apart from the well-known and loved books you will find there, don't hesitate to pick up a title you may have not considered before. The selection really leaves no doubt that there is great love and thought going into what gets put on the shelves. Truly a great bookshop.
Neat little shop with interesting collection of books including independent publishers and artists. Friendly service. Will be visiting again for sure.
Would be an awesome shop if the owner wasn’t so arrogant. I went in today and said hello to him, and he couldn’t even reply..it was because I didn’t have my mask on..perhaps if you want people to be courteous to you, you may need to extend it first. I had actually forgotten to put it on and hadn’t seen his massive sign. If you want customers, you may need to think about your attitude.
Great bookshop, only scifi and fantasy though.
Love this place! Best selection in Edinburgh for fantasy sci-fi and carries more than just the latest book in the series! The owner has also ordered US/CAN editions of books in for me before as I prefer their cover art, can't do that on Amazon. Very much worth supporting!
A lovely little bookshop specialising in science fiction. The shelves are crammed with a wealth of books, and the proprietor seems like a really nice guy. He was happy to let me wander the shop in peace and commented on a book I'd been looking at when I came to pay - it's encouraging to see a bookseller that's familiar with their wares. I'd highly recommend it for any fan of science fiction.
