Visited the Trafalgar Tavern for lunch and had a fantastic experience. Despite the venue being busy, the service was quick, friendly, and well organised, which made a big difference.nnFor starters, we shared the black pudding on toast and Scotch eggs — both excellent and clearly freshly prepared. For mains, we went with a burger and chips, followed by sticky toffee pudding for dessert, which was the perfect way to finish the meal.nnEverything was washed down with a few pints of ale, and it all hit the spot. A great atmosphere, solid pub food done properly, and attentive service even when crowded. Would absolutely return.
My partner and I booked the Trafalgar Tavern for Christmas lunch having been a couple of times previously, and very glad we did! The quality of the food for every single course was excellent and we were impressed with how well cooked both the beef and turkey were considering how busy the pub was.nnWe had a lovely table by the window near the fire, and the atmosphere in the pub with Santa bringing some entertainment was lovely.nnChristmas Day can be a gruelling shift for hospitality workers and the team did a brilliant job. We will be back soon, and would absolutely return for Christmas Day in the future. Thank you!
A proper pub! Traditional inside setting with a cracking fire place for a great atmosphere. We visited for Sunday roast and booked a week ahead to get a table. We had a window view table with great views out over the Thames.nnThe roast was really good and well worth the money. They had a good selection of beers and cocktails as well as mulled wine for the winter.nnHighly recommend for a cosy atmosphere on a cold autumn day.
Wow! This has got to be the best pub in all of London!! The beer garden is amazing with the beautiful lights. The interior is just stunning!! I want to live here . The food was outstanding- large portions and seriously the best pub food selection and taste we've had anywhere in 11 years living in London. Live music was yet another plus! Loved it so much!!
After our regular pilgrimage to the national maritime museum at Greenwich, we were pretty hungry and decided to have a traditional English pub lunch. Headed to the Trafalgar tavern which was close and by the water.nnI opted for the traditional fish and chips. This was haddock, served with mushy peas, chips and tartare sauce. Very satisfying.nnOne other in our group had the shorthorn beef rump. This was served with vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, horseradish crème and traditional gravy. Quite good for a busy pubnnLastly my partner, who is vegetarian, had the Roasted squash, beetroot and mushroom Wellington. This was also quite good pub fare.nnOverall not bad, much better than Weatherspoons,nnRecommended if you’re in the area and want a pub lunch. However it does get very crowded with tourists.
