Bit disappointed tonight, was their for birthday party meal, 9 people, wasn't busy in the restaurant but we waited ages for the food, there were diabetics with us that started to flag with the wait of the food, however when it arrived it was as gorgeous as every, the one thing that would make the meals better were the choice of 2 veg, instead of just peas, mushy peas or beans, puddings as gorgeous as ever, and entertainment brilliant, bingo great. The staff all work very hard and are always at your call when needed, but brilliant night apart from wait for food.
£18 for a tasteless lamb shank with no vegetables available and dry boiled potatoes, the mint gravy was also very vinegary , very poor quality . I over heard people sat around us complaining also. The young lad who took our order and fetched our drinks was very good though 5 star to him but zero stars to the chef and the management
We were in Chapel for the week and ate at the trafalgar four times, and every meal was top draw along with the service. It's well recommended, and I can't wait to return.Food: 5/5
This place is a breath of fresh air. A very clean well kept pub/restaurant. Alot of thought has gone into making your visit really pleasent. The beers, largers etc are very well kept. Rang and booked a Sunday carvery for 12.30, arrived to a friendly welcome and shown to a table, waited a short while and told when to go for carvery, you told the people behind the serving counter what you wanted and the selection was very good and of the belly busting type. You have a choice of meats, 1/2 or three and are really generous but beware the beef has been on occasions very tough so much so people have left on the plate or asked for a sharper knife. The staff are well informed, courteous and friendly. Ordering drinks was made very easy. The food was of a excellent quality. Meals throughout the week are worth a visit too. Evening time bingo etc are on. A small Car park outside. Excellent value, A very pleasant atmosphere and experience and will certainly go again.update Oct 2022 the last three visits we found the beef to be most excellent, even able to shred easily.
Lovely pub, lovely owners and staff. I have known Gary and Marion for years , also jodie there daughter . These people cannot do enough for you ... the food is great including the sunday carvery which is amazing. There is some great nights in this pub and they look after you like you are part of there own family . Come and give them a visit. Amazing place .....
Perfect gluten free menu I've eaten here a few times now on my travels. Highly recommended must eat, book it in advance because it is worth it.
I have been working locally for a week now, I was recommended to the Trafalga and was not disappointed. Two of us have eaten here every night and chose meals from the two for £13 menu, wow we have been so impressed, generous portions with the chips to die for. Tried a different meal each day, never disappointed. We could never manage a pudding so on our last night we had garlic bread starter and a pudding without a main meal, even the garlic bread was huge. The staff are so friendly and super efficient. I can’t give this place enough praise, LOVED IT.
We've been to the Trafalga for a Sunday Carvery on a couple of occasions recently and the latest visit didn't disappoint. The meals are based on the number of slices of meat you ask for and the chef doesn't scrimp on the portion per slice so, before opting for a 3-slice ask yourself if you are a 'big eater'. If not, a 1 or 2 slice option is more than enough. After your meat has been sliced, a field's-worth of veg is loaded onto your plate and ensures you never want for the dessert menu. Would highly recommend.
Although busy, we were seated and our food/drinks order taken straight away. Food arrived in good time, hot, plentiful and tasty. Staff friendly and efficient and clearly work very hard. Enjoyed our experience so much we've booked for Sunday lunch.
First time coming as our usual go to carvery has shut. This place came highly recommended. Slightly disappointed it wasn't a serve yourself carvery but you definitely get a good choice and portions are so satisfying. Meat is cut lovely and thick and was lucky to get the crackling which was the best ever. Couldn't fault a thing and everyone serving was super friendly. Can't wait to come back
