Amazing food. Bit of confusion about turkey/beef but we laughed about it. Honestly the best food I've had in ages. Lovely fresh veg. Home cooked food. Husband had braising steak and said it was delicious. A very good pint of carling dark fruits. Lovely staff who told us some places to go in the rain. Faultless place. Can't wait to go back!
Would definitely recommend. Very friendly, wonderful staff . Called in on Monday dinner for a drink . Bar lady very polite and professional. Called in today at 12 for food . Excellent all round. Service , food , barman . Well done . Definitely will be backFood: 5/5
The Guinness tasted amazing, so smooth. One of the best ever. Great local pub, nice to see original features, would highly recommend.
Had a lovely Sunday Roast at the Countryman, I was especially impressed with the tasting board of ales brewed on site. Staff were very friendly and attentive and everything was very reasonably priced.
Been afew times now and the food is fabulous honestly. Homemade generous piping hot portions of flavoursome goodness! Braising steak is unreal! Liver n onions amazing and the fish basket is gorgeous too! Friendly welcoming staff. Its just a must if in the area you won't be disappointed x
We've been here a few times for Sunday lunch but not for a couple of years so we were in the area so popped over. Wow it's gone down hill. £11 for quite comfortably the worst meal I've ever had anywhere. Absolutely no taste whatsoever. The beef was braising steak so didn't need a knife. The mash potatoes had a yellow tinge to them & were spread out to make it look like there was alot. Got 1 soggy " roast" potato & the carrots were almost raw. Yorkshire pudding was from frozen but tasted like cardboard. Gravy was nice though. All in all it was awful. Sorry but definitely won't be going back
We had a quick four day caravan break and visited here as I had seen the cask ale sign. Superb, ate here every tea time last food orders 19:00 and enjoyed the very good home made food. Three cask beers on the bar from their own brewery, Leila's Cottage, and excellent, as was the crack with the locals. Roll all this up with the very reasonable prices and you don't need to go elsewhere. PS. We visited mid April and the food got busy, in season I would suggest booking a table. Enjoy!
Nice pub serving traditional home cooked food, not bought in to look home cooked! Actually believe it was made on site by a proper cook which is rare! Only issue was that everything then seemed to have been reheated in the Microwave so was nuclear when it arrived.
Excellent Sunday dinner, great quality, friendly staff. Reasonable price.
Absolute wonderful food I had the mac n cheese and it was perfection warm and tasty highly recommended to people wanting to visit the pub and the service of the staff was outstanding made me feel very welcome this is why I gave it 5 stars on everythingFood: 5/5
