After reading all the bad reviews I phoned first to make sure that they were serving breakfast, which they were. Strange atmosphere, very flat, no music playing at all, which seemed odd. Staff were not rude, but were not very cheerful. Breakfast was not very hot, but when I asked for it to be put in the microwave to heat it up there was no problem. The pub was quite nice with lots of interesting historical pictures and information.
The service is here is very friendly and very fast. Anything you order does come in a good time frame. The staff we’re also great last night, very; friendly, talkative and happy to help. The food was as expected for the price. Tasted good and everything was hot. The puddings were great also. Very rich flavours for the price, some good quality apples in the crumble for example. Overall the food was as expected from a Weatherspoon. The let down was the arrangement, we are a family of 5, 3 children and 2 parents. It wasn’t very friendly, drunk people chanting and jeering, no family section or anything so everyone is just sort of mixed. Which was a shame but we’re staying away from home and it was the only place in the area. So you put up with it when needed I guess. I also understand the idea so I wouldn’t expect to be separated just detailing as it’s relevant and the reason for 4* and not 5.
Staff are great! Cosy wetherspoons. Glad I ticked it off my list to visit. Great location, nearby all day parking for £4 in the cricket club. If I'm back in the area I will return. Bit of a potentially dangerous step in the middle of the pub, however well signed and people warned! Cheers
What can you say about a spoons ‍ Cheap food cheap beer you get what you pay for. This one has a definite split personality the bar end and the food end. On arrival we found some seats near the main entrance and even been only a Tuesday dinner time the amount of drunken people was a tad bit over the top so luckily a table became free at the other end of the venue so we moved. All in all the food was the usual spoons food and staff very helpful and pleasant.
Visited a few times whilst we were in the area and every time the staff were excellent. Breakfasts are good value as are the drinks and refillable tea/coffee/hot chocolate. Sadly the main meal we had was not great value and there is better to be had elsewhere in the area.
Had an evening meal there. Meals out on time but served on cold plates. I had lasagne which was tasty just not hot. The place was busy when the food arrived. Staff were friendly and welcoming just my order wasn't up to scratch
Shocking. Turning off all kitchen equipment 40 mins before closing so longer than average wait time but then for the food to arrive and the two small bowls to be burnt black and then replaced and still over cooked and god knows what they did to the burger as it looked like it had been put on the grill and completely forgotten about it was that overcooked it was inedible. Not a place to go if your actually hungry.
Great location very chilled and relaxing place to sit and eat. As per all wetherspoons service and food is on par and prices are great . Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere the pub had after a long day shopping etc
Been to this pub a few times when visiting Skegness always a friendly welcome prompt service and tasty well cook food would recommend
Great food some of the best spoons food out there, staff a bit rude but overall good experience
