Fabulous place. Wonderful caring volunteers. Fantastic owls. We were blessed enough to be shown round by a staff member who owns the biggest owl. He was so interesting and informative. Learnt a lot about the rare breeds they have and what they are doing to help. Grand kids had a ball highly recommended. Cafe is good to.

ONE early summer afternoon whilst returning to Totnes station my wife spotted a small sign, that we had previously missed, for the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm so we decided to pay a visit. Imagine our unexpected joy when we also discovered that the Farm is adjacent to The South Devon Heritage railway with all those beautiful steam trains maintained by volunteers. To gain entry into the rare breeds farm we purchased 2 wrist bands in the charming visitors café which serves great tea and satisfying snacks. My personal highlight was seeing all the beautiful Owls, which varied in size from tiny to the absolutely huge, and listening to the knowledgeable staff describing each of the breeds and their native habitats. It proved to be a magical day out just like the days I remember from my childhood.

Great fun on the railway and exploring the animals at the rare breed farm. The kids loved.
