2.5.2025nReceptionist and Doctor were both really lovely, professional and helpful whilst demonstrating compassion, empathy, listening to my health concerns and articulating well the next steps. Been with the surgery 59 years. Excellent source of support for our community. Thank you!
I’ve been a patient at this practice since I moved to Nottingham when I was 17. 25+ years later and two children and husband also registered and I’ve always found the service received to be excellent. I’m always able to get an appointment and I feel listened to and understood. I hear how other practices operate and I’m more than happy with the appointment booking system. The doctors and reception/administration teams have always been very helpful. I wouldn’t be anywhere else.
The surgery is sadly going downhill very quickly, which is a big shame because it used to be very good. I imagine there's a lot of strain on the system, but on a personal level, I feel stuck with nowhere to turn to because all of the other surgeries are not proving a good or even adequate service either.nnProblem #1nGetting an appointment. It's now only possible to book an appointment on a Monday, and occasionally on a Tuesday. Unfortunately, this is not made clear in the pre-recorded message when you're on hold, so you can end up waiting on the phone for a long time only to be told to call back next week - but the receptionist doesn't make it clear you should call back on a Monday morning. I learned this the hard way.nnProblem #2nWhen you call, you can be on the phone for a long time, only to be hung up on. This happened today 3 times.nnProblem #3nThe receptionist who I imagine to be under a lot of pressure does not have a kindly tone, and instead one of a rude teenager. It makes the experience of trying to get an appointment even less pleasant.nnProblem #4nYou very rarely if ever get to see the same doctor twice. You're only able to discuss one symptom at a time, which is unfortunate as different symptoms often point to one health issue.nnProblem #5nThere is nowhere else to turn to if you can't afford to go private. It's pointless switching to another practice as they have the same issues. There is nowhere, from what I can see, that I can provide feedback that will be taken constructively and solutions implemented, except for here.nnProblem #6nThe last couple of doctors that I saw seemed to be in training as none of them were confident in giving a diagnosis or medication until they've spoken with their supervision. I appreciate that everyone has to learn, but it means that they're playing a game of Chinese whispers and aren't putting 2 and 2 together to figure out the root cause of my symptoms.nnIt's a real shame because when I first joined the practice, only 2-3 years ago, you were able to get an appointment fairly easily and within a fairly reasonable timeframe.nnI hope that this surgery and the NHS is able to turn things around so that we're able to get appointments with a good level of care asap.
This doctors practice has to be the worse surgery I have ever been in, its an absolute joke trying to get an appointment. You sit on the phone for 40 minutes trying to get through only to be told go to the NHS walk in centre or A&E as they are at capacity. They Do NOT give you a choice of telephone call with a doctor. They are NOT helpfull in any way, they just fob you off. The place and its policy is a joke.
I can not praise Dr Dalton enough.nVisited at 7am one morning by the afternoon I was at the QMC. Dr Dalton then phoned me a home out of her hours.nWith Dr Dalton's quick response I had a operation 30 days later. She literally saved my life. After finding Overian cancer.
