Went there last night and had a good fun. Music was good and the usual powertripping bouncers. Staff was friendly. There were a lot of offers but you had to mention them and ticket included entry in Buddah lounge which was a lie. 3 stars is fair
Bouncers incredibly rude. Went into club but then told me and friends weren’t allowed to re-enter even though I was sober and they had done nothing wrong. When I asked why they refused to give a reason. Bar staff were nice.
Witnessed the staff clear the beer garden by chucking rubbish over the fence into the street. A customers coat was also thrown over instead of being kept in lost property. Disgraceful behaviour that will be reported to the council. I live opposite the club and have never had a problem until I witnessed this.
Tokyo bar is an unorganised joke of an establishment. Avoid at all costs. Rude and provocative bouncers who are not operating in unison with the management. Turned up with tickets for an event that the bouncers didn’t seem to know was going on. Kicked out for ‘swearing at the waitress’ and then let back in for apologising. Female bouncer on the door on Friday 18 December punched me in the chest after she thought we were pals when I apologised. What really happened was I purchased an unlimited drinks and food voucher for £20 but didn’t want to put the wrist band on due to personal preference, though I was happy to keep it visible on the table. The waitress said “put it on then” to which I said no I’ll leave it on the table, she then said sarcastically “it’s not that difficult is it?” I said no but I’ll leave it there. Then, in a shocking change of heart said “ as long as it’s on the table that’s fine” but then went and told the bouncer I was rude and that I swore at her which was indeed a fabrication in order to eject me from the premises. I stood patiently until the bouncer who was spoken to spoke to me and I was told that I could re-enter provided that I ‘owned up to swearing’ and apologised authentically. Which I did. The Waitress serving our table was obviously having issues in her own personal life as from the moment she came up to the table she seemed quite abrupt and cheeky. It should be made clear that no one else of the 5 others at the table heard me swear or thought I was rude in any way. It should be noted that I would not swear at a lady under any circumstances. She fabricated the story that I swore at her in order to get me kicked out. Simple. Let’s address the rules under new government guidelines which state that alcohol must be served with a substantial meal. No one in the entire place had food on the table, we ordered pizzas, chips and chicken wings which were not served whatsoever throughout the 2 hours of being in the premises. As a little bit of a hush hush bribe we were awarded 6 closed bottled of Budweiser in a box which was all well and good except for the fact that I nearly died of starvation during my visit to Tokyo bar. Now, the reason we came was for a gig and someone we knew was playing. The sound system in this venue is a shambles and made every artist who was on sound like a cat being dragged through a thorny bush. Rude bouncers, rude waitress, shambles of a management, awful speakers, watered down vodka. I feel like it would be easier to walk into 10 Downing Street than getting into Tokyo bar. It’s a shame to see that we have such awful venues with militant looking bouncers in essentially full black combat gear with steel toe cap boots who punch the customers who weren’t aggressive in the slightest. Thank you? ‍
Decent place BUT, beware the door staff have got a REAL power trip, haven't experienced it at any other venue before like this
Good music. Bar waiting times are slow. Little cramped inside, and also the air con hasnt work properly for hears so it gets very hot inside. Boucers very friendly.
Would let my girlfriend and her mates in yet I had not been drinking and they told me to sober up just because I was a male and they let the females in, be aware please the bouncers are dangerous
Nice space. Good afternoon session on Saturdays with food served and the nights are decent
Well worth getting a booth, as the drinks are quite expensive at the bar and works out better for a booth, good music and friendly staff
