Avoid renting from this thrifty outlet, I did a last minute rental through my hotel holiday inn down the street and everything seemed great. However during the vehicle inspection I pointed out to the employee that there was a scratch at the front left bumper and the e employee said it was fine. Little did I know that when I attempted to drop off the car at the airport, I was accused of damaging the car and not having a vehicle inspection form physical or through email. I explained to the airport thrifty employee and even showed my own photo evidence but they said the billing of the damage was up to franchisee and they had no part in it but to report the damage. Eventually I was indeed billed extra costs which i assume is for the damage as neither thrifty Canada nor the airport want to assist me.
Avoid car renting at this location!! These are thieves, this a franchise, not the real Thrifty car rental. These guys make up their own policies. I reserved a car to travel from Toronto to Chicago and right at the time of picking up the car, the person asked me to pay a surchage for each Km. based on the distance from Toronto to Chicago, which amounted to more than $300 dlls. in addition to the rental fees, because “internacional” rentals had to pay more. These are thieves!! Avoid them
Absolutely exceptional. The whole team at this location is so kind and very generous. I was surprised about the service that I had received as the car rental experience is usually not a great one. They were very patient and gave me the best value that they could offer me at the time. They also upgraded me where they could. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a car rental!
I booked a car over the phone from a Thrifty's attendant. Noticed my confirmation email had the wrong pick-up date. I booked for Easter but they booked me for the middle of the week, the week before Easter. When I called them to let them know they refused to change it and told me that I needed to book 4 days during the holidays and I only needed the vehicle for 2 days. VERY dishonest. Do Not rent from Thrifty's. Google other companies that have the same prices or better. Enterprise Avis Hertz The list goes on but stay away from this company. Nice try adding that they need to spend times with their loved ones. you had NO problem renting me a car for 4 days, just not two days AND if you're closed, don't take reservations for that date. This reply shows how dishonest this company is. Contacting head office right now.
If I was able to give this place more than 5 stars I would! The customer service is phenomenal and the staff are very considerate. I had to cancel a reservation last minute for a rental from another company that was giving me a hard time and found this location that not only provided me a great rate for a last minute rental but also provided me the greatest car to drive in the winter storms I faced on my journey. Thank you again for your kindness and help and ensuring that me and my friends made it to our destination and back safely! Get your rentals from here - they are honestly the greatest and treat everyone so well!
Not a reviewer by nature but had to comment on the exceptional service I received at Dollar/Thrifty on Carlton today. Was scheduled to pick up Monday but got shutdown by the blizzard..thought I'd have to rebook and reserve again but they remembered me and our previous conversation..excellent customer service new vehicle and ready when I arrived!! Can't give enough praise to this agency!!!
On pick up of my car Carlos and Seelan worked with me to ensure that I had exactly why I needed. They were personable and absolutely professional in making sure my car was ready and clean. On drop off. It was quick efficient and without hassle. Thanks Carlos and Seelan..see you in my next trip!

We needed a rental very last minute and they were able to accommodate our needs, even on such short notice. The service here is amazing and their vehicles are in such great condition. I will definitely continue to rent from here.
This was my worst experience with a car rental that I have ever seen! I had a very important interview in Hamilton the following morning, so I wanted to make sure that I had a car ready to go in the morning hence why I was renting. When I arrived at the store, there was a note saying be back soon and to call a specific number. It was probably 1 hour before closing. Anyways I was about to leave but thought I would call, the guy replied he will be there in a minute. Fast forward 25 minutes he finally arrives at this point I had committed and did not have time to walk to another rental car place my mistake. I requested the absolute cheapest car they had for tomorrow if I could reserve it and come pick it up tomorrow. The guy said sure sure no problem. He then printed a receipt and quoted me $94 for 1 day! I was confused because Hertz a farther walk was charging $30 / day. He said oh its for 2 days because you plan to return the veichle after store closing at 5 pm. First car rental I have seen not do after hours drop off. I was upset at this point and said come on you got to do a better price. He then replied fine we have a smaller car... how could there be something cheaper when I asked for the cheapest thing. He pen wrote a different price on the receipt to help me out. Which I was thinking, I am getting ripped off, but have no choice and at least he did something nice. Fast forward 1 month and look at my visa bill. The guy charged me full price. TL;DR Terrible customer service, rip off prices, please don't go.
